ACTIVITY

I started draw and edit back what I left on Friday. Supposedly, I had overall 4 types of leaves with different kind of shape but I only choose 2 leaves to be drawn to save time. The size still around 800 x 300 mm. 

After that, I decided to trace the line for the simple drawing which will enable the 3D corner engraving simulation. The thickness is about 1 mm only. 

ACTIVITY

In the morning, i searched for another suitable design for the first layer of Congkak. 

I then started tracing for the all line of that design in NanoCad. After done tracing, I transfer the file into Ucancam software to enable the simulation. 

After lunch, i added the design on the Congkak in Ucancam software and started copy paste to form 16 layers of Congkak. 

In the middle of copy and paste, I found a problem at eight layer which the outer layer disturb the line of hole. So, when machining, it will cause undesired shape. I then decided to continue edit again. 

ACTIVITY

Along the day i did the same editing part for Congkak until I feel satisfy.

After that, i looked for the butterfly that need to machining. I add the simulation for the overall shape. Compared again for the last time before ready to be machine.

And then i continue back to the main product, Congkak. I add the small design on the first layer that will using 3D corner engraving. As i feel the shape is quite good, then I continue to add line for the rest layer. Make sure the size of hole and overall size is suitable for all people too.

ACTIVITY

From early morning, i did machining for the butterfly task which there are total 8 layers to be machines. But i only did machining for five layers first using the old plasma CNC machine and the others three for the new small CNC machine that later need to record video for the manual. 

So, as usual what i did was :

1. Clean up the surface or base of the machine. Make sure the surface is clean from dust and other unuseful material. 
2. Switch on the machine and make sure the spindle at the origin. 
3. Set up the cutting tool. For this product, the cutting tool used is end mill D0.13.
4. Start machining.

After lunch break, I continue for the main product, Congkak. I start machining layer number eight first as I already suspicious of the outcome of the product during the simulation. 

And my suspicious is correct as the front part of Congkak is break or broken before I continue for the next layer, nine. Then, I directly stop machining and think the best way either to change the overall shape of Congkak or change the size of holes only.

ACTIVITY

As i already faced the problem before. I continue edit again and think the possible action need to be taken so that I am not ruin the overall product.

Since morning I tried the best way in editing but at the end i get help from the manager regarding that product. Asking him about what should i do and what he think the best method. And he suggest that i change the size of hole. The holes that involves is only the biggest holes. Luckily not so much work to change that shape and i think to add size by adding the outer line which mean add another layer, the first layer.

After that, i run the machining for 3D corner engraving part. Just want to see the result from using different cutting tool.

1. Conical D0.13 A30 H15. The result is not satisfying as the space between is too small too fit in the brush for coloring.
2. Conical D0.20 A45 H15.. I quite satisfy but need to change the depth from 1 mm to 2mm to make it clear and space in between is fit for the brush.

In the morning, I start edit Congkak for the last time. From 800 mm length become 840 mm. This due to the the last layer of Congkak's shape need to be smaller than the layer before. So, it will affect the overall holes includes the leaf design of the in front Congkak.

The total of layer is 18 layers. I might be add 2 more layer to make it 20 layer so that the overall shape of Congkak is ideal and attractive. Moreover, I want the height of Congkak is a bit taller than the common one. 

Then, I start to machine for the first six layer. I started with layer number three until layer number eight. There are 14 layers left to be machine.

I decided to machine 11 layers on the Monday using the old CNC plasma machine and the other three using the new CNC machine. 

I bring home the six layers of Congkak to clean the dust around it so i save a lot of time on finishing later.
