Today, most colleagues from my department went for company trip at Semporna, Sabah.
Before the trip, Mr. Su had instructed us to inspect the condition of water pressure gauge for Golf Hotel's main water supply.
The usual water pressure reading has range from 4 to 6 atm,with maximum pressure up to 7 atm.
From the picture taken, the pressure value was approximately 5 atm.
Besides, I also followed other interns from Road & Bridge Division to inspect the construction progress at site P4 and P26.
I had gained more knowledge on the installation of high voltage electrical wells (for checking purpose) and drainage pipe (OKA pipe).

I had made some researches on the professional terms which I dun know.
The example is RMU which stands for ring main unit.
In an electrical power distribution system, a ring main unit (RMU) is a factory assembled, metal enclosed set of switchgear used at the load connection points of a ring-type distribution network.
There was a RMU project in charged by Mr. Su.
Each of the interns are required to write a monthly report on what had we done to the department director, Dr. Chen Ai Lu.
I made some preparation works for the report and wrote according to the work done for the past month.

Wednesday
I continued with the monthly report writing which need to be submitted to department director on this Saturday (28 July 2018).
During free time, I also studied on the drawing of Sewage Treatment Plant 1 (STP 1) , which is located at top right of Island 1 as shown in the figure.
There will be total of 7 main STPs in Island 1 to cover the expected usage of 621296 PE.
The expected amount of PE is different from the actual one as there are uncertainties when building them, for example area of plot, phase of construction etc.

Today I studied about HDPE corrugated protective pipes for electric cable, electrical manhole and electric pipe frame.
There are reasons to select HDPE corrugated pipes and it is because of the material, mechanical and chemical properties.
Structural strength, abrasion resistance, light weight, chemically inert and simple installation are the advantages of using HDPE corrugated pipes.
Precast concrete Electric Manholes install quickly and easily, strengthen over time, can be made watertight, and provide excellent durability during backfill and use.
For the general details, precast concrete electrical manholes are used to protect vital connections and controls for modern electricity distribution.
For the mechanical properties, the concrete cube strength is 30 MPa and it able to withstand loading of 22.5 metric tonnes axle load.
For the installation steps of electrical manhole, it started with location determination, followed by manhole selection, excavation and lastly the cabling works
At Plot 26, electrical manholes produced by SK Target Group Limited are used, with specifications fixed by TNB.

In the morning, one intern and I helped Mr. Ma Li to translate a document about P29 - P32 Integrated Pipeline Network Technology Evaluation Form.
As usual, there was a weekly meeting from 2.30 to 5.30 pm.
All department employees are required to attend this meeting.
Department director, Dr. Chen Ai Lu gave his remarks on this year target that need to accomplish, which is Certificte of Completion and Compliance (CCC) for P4 and P5.
Even though P3 had already handed over to propety owner, we still have to ensure stable water and power supply, and avoid any possible outage.
For short term target, Dr. Chen Ai Lu mentioned that we should focus on handover of building for each plot.
There are always complicated problems that we find it difficult to solve, Dr. Chen stated that we can first analyze them, categorize them into individual part and lastly cooperate with relevant department to curb them.

Since there was less things to do, I updated my daily logbook and make some changes on E-portfoliio.
Besides, I also continued writing the internship report which has to be submitted after this industrial training.
