In the morning, Mr. Su brought me and some interns to inspect the issue of traffic lights malfunction after raining.
The faulty traffic lights are located at the area of entrance and exit of ramps.
The technicians tried to identify the cause of malfunction and found out that the problem lies in the cable.
They opened up the compact-sub located under the road then tested on the current passing through each cable.
Mr. Su also requested for providing water proofing at the connection part to avoid water from going in.
After lunch break, I continued with the translation works assigned by manager.

Tuesday
Mr. Su and another engineer Mr. Kong went to Golf Hotel's site with interns.
Today's visit is to check on the progress of pipe jacking because there will be a Datuk's daughter wedding ceremony.
For beautification purpose, landscape department was contacted to cover that area with grass. The exposed part of electric cable protective pipe was cut and sealed.
We also went to another site to check the HDPE water pipes and found out that they were not properly covered.
After lunch break, 2 interns and I sent the translated documents and attachments to assistant manager, Mr. Yap Thyle Loon.
This is for him to check the documents in case there is any mistakes.
I also participate in meeting entitled Golf's integrated pipeline network construction measures and situation report.
There were several main points, including main road situation, sewage pipeline, water pipeline, high and low voltage electric cable lines, and problem & solution.
I had recorded down some important summarized points for Mr. Kong who was absent to do meeting minute.

Wednesday
Mr. Kong had asked us to research for the minimum depth for pipes with different diameter.
There are difference in standards and law between Malaysia and China.
First, I obtained some basic understanding in Ductile Iron pipe (DI), High Density Polyethylene pipe (HDPE) etc.
Then I continued with researching the depth standards for pipe with different material and diameter.
HDPE is polyethylene thermoplastics made from petroleum. It has high strength to density ratio.
DI pipe is a pipe made of ductile cast iron, commonly used for potable water transmission and distribution.
Compared to HDPE pipe, DI pipe has cost approximately 10 times more than that of HDPE pipe.
There are two methods in jointing the HDPE pipes, which are electrofusion and heat fusion.
Electrofusion has special fittings with built-in electric heating elements which are used to weld the joint together.
Heat fusion involves heating and pressing to join two different pieces of thermoplastics.

Thursday
Mr. Kong brought us to visit the Golf's site to inspect the progress of water piping connection which is under Khidmat Hijau Berhad.
Upon our arrival, Mr. Kong contacted the company as there was no one at the site.
While waiting for the arrival of equipment and workers, he led us to go around the Golf course site.
Then, we went back to the Golf's site and supervise the workers to finish the right-angled connection of HDPE water supply pipes.
After lunch break, Mr. Su and Mr. Kong brought us to the Golf’s site again. The workers had shown up and been doing the heat fusion of HDPE water supply pipes.
Heat fusion had been chosen instead of electrofusion because of the requirement of surrounding environment. Pipes welded by electrofusion have less resistance to heavy vehicle (70 tons and above). The pipe will be easily broken under heavy weight because of inability to flexibly move up or down.
We also had an inspection on the renovation of golf course, golf room and VIP golf room.
