Week 8 (6/9/2020 - 12/9/2020)

7/9/2020 (Monday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL tang before 9:00am.
  • After that, I analysed data from last week’s performance along with Kak Ida and Kak Nurul.
  • After lunch break, I went to MCOB A Department to meet with Mr Shazni.
    • Mr Shazni handed me BATES and ALLORO PCB to be measured.
    • I created new program for both PCBs.
    • The data obtained were gathered and presented in table and graphical form using Microsoft Office Excell.

8/9/2020 (Tuesday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL tang before 9:00am.
  • Mr KL assigned me with a new task.
    • This task required me to go to MCOB A Department and check on the utilisation of the tablet at the Sawing Process Line.
    • I went to the production line and inspected the operator.
    • I asked around about the tablet and took note on the issue that caused them not to use the tablet.
    • The major issue happened to be the slow Internet connection.
    • I updated the IT Department about this issue.
  • After lunch break, Muizz from the IT Department went to MCOB A Department with me.
    • He checked the Internet connection on each tablet.
    • Somehow, it happened to be that those tablets has unknown ID making the IT Department block their Internet connections.
    • Therefore, Muizz unblocked all the connections.
    • I tried using the tablet by myself to experience and understand the utilisation myself.
    • Since the Internet connection is okay now, the operator might be able to use the tablet to transact lots after this.

9/9/2020 (Wednesday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL Tang before 9:00am.
  • Then, I helped Kak Ida and Kak Nurul on the SMT Reject Breakdown.
  • After lunch break, Mr KL Tang assigned me with two minor tasks.
    • First, he wanted me to take photos on each type of jigs available and used in both SMT and MCOB Department.
    • To solve this task, I went to the process flow for both department and identify which process utilise the jig.
    • After that, I went straight to the processes that uses jigs mainly to perform their work.
    • I took photos and explained the differences of each jig to Mr KL Tang.
    • This task was given to follow the issue regarding PCB scratches.
    • For the second task, Mr KL asked me and Kak Ida to observe the whole process of edge removal in MCOB A Department.
    • We were asked to examine and study the tool used to carry this process. Thus, we analysed if this tool could contribute to PCB scratches.

10/9/2020 (Thursday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL Tang before 9:00am.
  • Then, I went to meet Mr Shazni in the MCOB A Department.
    • Mr Shazni handed me four PCBs to be measured: SIDURI, HANZELL, RAGMAN and DESMOND.
    • I created the program for each product.
    • However, I only managed to complete 2 programs before lunch break and decided to continue with this task after lunch break.
  • After lunch break, I went to the OGP Machine again to continue this morning’s task.
    • Before that, Mr Shazni asked me to help him out on something more important.
    • He asked me to measure a DODGE PCB that has misalignment.
    • Along with that, he asked me to teach his internship trainee on how to use the machine.
    • I taught the trainee to develop the program specifically for the DODGE problem.
    • The data were collected and analysed with Microsoft Office Excel.
    • Then, Mr Shazni said that there was another prioritised issue going on and need me to do some measurement regarding the issue.
    • He handed me a magazine of 4 BATES panels to be measured.
    • There panels were done with the laser-marking process.
    • The issue is that, after laser-mark, there was misalignment problem.
    • Therefore, I have to measure the position of the laser marks and the position of the PCB. Thus, I can comare the data to find the difference in the position later.
    • The program for the panel took me around 30 minutes to develop and the running time for each panel was around 1 hour and 30 minutes per panel.
    • Therefore, I was only able to complete one panel.
    • By the end of the day, I was left with 3 panels of BATES, RAGMAN and HANZELL PCB to be measured tomorrow.

11/9/2020 (Friday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL Tang before 9:00am.
  • After that, I went to the OGP Machine to continue yesterday’s measurement.
    • I completed the measurement for 1 BATES PCB.
  • After lunch break, I continued with the measurement.
    • I completed the measurement for another 2 BATES PCBs.
    • Then, I created the program to measure RAGMAN and HANZELL.
    • After completing all measurements that were due this week, I went to the office for data analysis.
    • I tried my best to arrange and analyse the data accordingly. Then, I sent them all to Mr Shazni: the 4 PCB issues and the 4 BATES Panel issue.
  • After that, ST Chin came to ask for some help on measuring.
    • She asked me to develop a program to measure the difference in solder paste and PCB of the new product, BONAPARTE.
    • I went to OGP Machine and created the program as requested.
    • I tried out a few trials on the PCB before handling the program to her.
