Week 7 (30/8/2020 - 5/9/2020)

2/9/2020 (Wednesday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL tang before 10:00am.
  • At 9:30am, I went to meet Shazni, a lasermark engineer to help him with some measurement.
    • He gave me two types of jig: PEEKABOO and SIDURI.
    • He asked me to measure the center point of each opening.
    • Therefore, I went to the OGP Machine and wrote a new program to measure those points.
    • The data is gathered and I further analysed them using Microsoft Office Excell.
    • Mr Shazni asked me to come back to MCOB A Department after lunch break to help him with more.
  • Before lunch break, Mr KL Tang informed me that the VGA splitter we ordered from P21 has arrived.
    • Therefore, he needed me to follow up with the IT Department to help with the wiring after lunch break.
  • After lunch break, Mr Nazrin from the technical team help me with the wire connection.
    • We went to SMT Department to connect the VGA to the PC nearby.
    • As this is done, the TV problem assigned to me was completely done.
  • Later, I went to meet Mr Shazni back in MCOB A Department.
    • Mr Shazni handed me a dummy PCB for ALLORO product.
    • I went to the OGP Machine and created a program to measure the pitch for the PCB.
    • After that, I gather all the data and further interpret them using Microsoft Office Excell.
    • To compare the size of both PCB and Jig, I plot a graph of two sets of data: one set for PCB measurement and one set for jig measurement.
    • These data should be overlapping with each other to prove that the currently used jig is suitable for the PCB.
    • I sent all the analyses and data to Mr Shazni and Mandy.

3/9/2020 (Thursday)

Working time: 8:30am – 7:00pm

  • I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL tang before 10:00am.
  • After that, I helped out Kak Ida on the SMT Breakdown issue.
  • After lunch break, I helped out Ibrahim on weighing problem.
    • We waited at the separating machine to be able to obtain direct lot from MCOB A Department.
    • After the lot trolley came in, we make sure we tracked in the lots before handling them to the operator to separate the lots.
    • Before separating, we manually calculated the number of rejects on the panel.
    • After the lot separation is done, we took the lot to the weighing machine and weighed them.
    • After obtaining the weigh for a whole lot, we divided the weigh with the quantity taken after deducting the rejects that we had calculated earlier.
    • This method enabled us to obtain unit weigh of each package by taking 5 samples of lot from each package.
    • These data are further interpreted by observing the trend of the unit weigh and the average unit weight for each package is obtain.
    • Later, I sent the data to Mr KL Tang to re-check and finalise them.
  • AT 6:00pm, Mr KL Tang asked me to join the meeting about SMT current reject breakdown.
    • The meeting is about updating this week’s yield and the method taken to improve the yield.
    • I noticed that every decision made must be thought well before executing it because every action matters.
    • I gained some experience attending meetings with Managers and Engineers especially on how to present your slide well and the best way to present your data after interpreting it.

4/9/2020 (Friday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL tang before 9:00am.
  • After that, I helped Kak Ida on the AOI reject breakdown issue.
  • After lunch break, I went to MCOB A and met Mr Shazni.
    • Mr Shazni asked me to help him to measure jig for CHUESEOK and CARACOL.
    • I went to the OGP Machine and created new program for both jigs. Although the measurement is the same but different jig required different program.
    • Each program took me round 45 minutes to write and another 15 minutes to run it. Overall, one jig required almost 1 hour to measure.
    • After finished measuring both jigs, the data were gathered and further analysed using Microsoft Office Excell.
    • I created graphs to represent the data in a clearer way.
