Week 3 (2/8/2020 - 8/8/2020)

3/8/2020 (Monday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • Meet Mr KL Tang at his office.
    • Update on process changes implementation last week
    • Mr KL Tang assigned me to go to MCOB Department B to continue gather data for all FAVI Machines.
  • After finished gathering all the data, I went to the separation machine.
    • I learnt to separate the units from mylar in details.
    • Then, I updated the data on the lot traveller and the book
  • After lunch break, I went to meet Mr KL Tang at his office to update my task.
    • Then, he explained on the machine converting process at the sawing machine in MCOB Department A.
    • This machine converting is to insert new recipe into the list of the recipes in the sawing machine to make them more functional to a wider range of device choices.
    • Then, he briefly explained to me the type of machines used in Inari for sawing process and the basic mechanisms of the machine.
    • He assigned me to go to the MCOB Department A and meet Mr Hayazi.
  • I went to find Mr Hayazi at the MCOB Department.
    • Mr Hayazi explained to me thoroughly about the sawing process including its mechanical mechanism.
    • He showed me around the layout of the machine.
    • According to Mr Hayazi, Inari uses two types of sawing machine which are DISCO and the brand new Accretech.
    • For the machine converting process, Mr hayazi have run 3 dummy panels (2 Hanzell and 1 Nightwing) into the machines.
    • These dummies were run according to the new recipe created by Mr Hayazi by referring to an actual production panel as guideline.
    • While Mr Hayazi was inserting the new recipe, he taught me on how to create new recipe at the sawing machine.
    • All of the dummies were approved by the QA Engineers. Thus, the converting machine can be performed completely.
    • This approval meant that Nightwing panels can now be run using sawing machine SAW#.60 and #.61 while Hanzell can now be run using sawing machine SAW#.62 and #.63.
    • I updated the progress to Mr KL Tang.

4/8/2020 (Tuesday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • I started my day by going to Mr KL Tang’s office to update him more on the conerting machine yesterday.
    • Then, Mr KL Tang assigned me to go to SMT Department to find Puan Nor Faqiah and ask her to update the data of AOI Machine for July.
    • After that, I went to MCOB Department B to continue gathering data for each FAVI Machine.
  • After lunch break, Mr KL Tang asked me to follow Kak Ida to the SMT Department to follow up on the process changes that was implemented last week.
    • He wanted the changes to be implemented completely by today.
    • However, when we went to the department, we encountered a few problems.
  • With the remaining time, I went to sit at the OGP Machine where there was an internship trainee.
    • I helped him created a new program to measure the size of the board he was measuring.

5/8/2020 (Wednesday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • Started my day by learning to update on daily yield for SMT and MCOB Department from Kak Nurul using Microsoft Office Excell
    • I tried to do the daily yield using some sets of data from the Shop Floor with the guide of Kak Nurul and Kak Ida.
    • Since this is my first-time handling this and Mr KL Tang did not assign me with any new task, I really took my time on getting to know the processes to update the yield.
    • According to Mr KL Tang, this is going to be my daily task.
  • After lunch break, I went to MCOB Department B to gather the data as usual.
  • Mr KL Tang assigned me to go to MCOB Department A to measure spv-tape for chimera ring at the laminating machine
    • Therefore, I went there with Kak Ida and updated the data.
  • Later, Kak Ida and I went to the OGP Machine to measure the warpage for some sample panels.
    • This data is required for the implementation of the process changes that will occur in the SMT Department.
  • Before going back, I met Mr KL Tang at his office.
    • I updated him on the tasks I have done today.
    • He asked me to try doing the daily yield for SMT and MCOB Department tomorrow and update them to Kak Nurul.
    • He also mentioned the issue with the spv-tape at the laminating machine.
    • He said he will be needing me to do some calculation and verification tomorrow regarding this issue.

6/8/2020 (Thursday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • Started my day by updating on the daily yield as per request by Mr KL Tang before 10:00am
    • I obtained all the data from the Shop Floor and futher analysed them using the template and the knowledge I have learnt from Kak Nurul and Kak Ida yesterday.
  • After that, Mr KL Tang addressed the issue regarding the tape usage in MCOB.
    • He gave out 3 scenarios to Kak Ida and I to solve for the cost calculation in terms of engineering economy.
    • He listed out the scenarios along with their details such as the width and price per roll.
    • After sorting out the important costs, Kak Ida and I analysed the best scenarios to be implemented in the MCOB Department A specifically at the laminating process.
    • This is done in order to compare and obtain the best option that is the most economical.
    • Then, I presented the comparison to Mr KL Tang.
  • After lunch break, I went to do the variance at MCOB Department B.
    • I have to manually calculate the units on some random panel to track out the variance.
    • All the data were collected and tabulated in Microsoft Office Excell and sent to Kak Nurul.
  • Later, I have to go to MCOB Department A to help out Mr KL Tang to obtain the measurement of the metal ring.
    • This measurement is related to the spv-tape (mylar) issue
    • There were two sizes of metal rings used by Inari.
    • I measured both metal rings along with the size of tape consumption per panel.
    • Then, I updated the measurement to Mr KL Tang.

7/8/2020 (Friday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

  • I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL Tang before 10:00am.
  • Then, Kak Ida and I went to MCOB Department A.
    • Mr KL Tang asked us to simulate the laminating process using both sizes of metal ring if the mylar width is changed to 280mm instead of 230mm (current).
    • After gathering all the data, we updated yesterday’s report regarding this matter to Mr KL Tang.
  • After lunch break, Mr KL Tang requested us to go to MCOB Department A again to confirm which type of metal ring is used in manual and auto machine respectively.
    • Kak Ida and I went to MCOB Department A and checked out all the sawing machines.
    • We identified which metal ring is used in auto or manual machine respectively.
    • We also identified the specific machine name that runs specific package/lot
    • These data are very important to make calculation later on.
  • After that, we went back to the office.
    • Mr KL Tang asked to analyse the repercussions of changing the spv-tape width from 230mm to 280mm.
    • Kak Ida and I did some calculation considering some engineering economy aspects.
    • Later, we presented our data and analyses at Mr KL Tang.
