Week 9 (13/9/2020 - 19/9/2020)

14/9/2020 (Monday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

• I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL Tang before 9:00am.
• Then, ST Chin came and requested some alterations on the BONAPARTE program.
  • I went to the OGP Machine and altered the previous program to fulfill the request from ST Chin.
• After lunch break, Kak Ida and I went to SMT Department.
  • Today, a new machine arrived in P13. Kak Ida has to inspect the machine set up along with a vendor.
  • This newly arrived machine is a machine to determine the grouping of the PCB in a more advanced way.
  • After the setup is done, there will be training on how to handle the machine held by Mr Ong.
  • However, the set up and programming of the machine consumed more time than we expected.
  • Therefore, the training was postponed until tomorrow.

15/9/2020 (Tuesday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

• I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL Tang before 9:00am.
• After that, Kak Ida and I went to inspect the machine.
  • The machine was fully setup with the programs.
  • Kak Ida and I searched out for some PCB to be tested on the machine.
  • The vendor stated that the machine utilisation was quite limited to certain product only due to the programming in the machine.
  • This means that if we wanted to use the machine on more product, we have to insert in new programs into the machine.
• After lunch break, I helped Ibrahim on his task.
  • He was asked to inspect all machines that are available in MCOB and SMT Department.
  • We went through the process flow on each department and started the inspection from the very beginning of the product creation.
  • This task helped me understand each machine more in term of its utilisation and the process carried on in each machine.

17/9/2020 (Thursday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

• I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL Tang before 9:00am.
• After that, I went to check on the tablet utilisation issue in MCOB A Department.
  • I asked around the operators on this issue and most of them already utilized the tablet fully.
• After lunch break, I went to help Mr Shazni on some quick measurement he needed by today.
  • Mr Shazni asked me to write him the program and he will run it by himself.
  • Therefore, I spent some time figuring out the best program to measure the measurement needed and gave the program to Mr Shazni for further action.
• Later, I went to SMT Department with Mr KL Tang.
  • We noticed that there was problem with one TV in SMT Department.
  • The TV was the one that uses the screen-mirroring technique to display the content from the PC nearby.
  • However, the PC nearby was fully occupied by the operators. Thus, screen-mirroring was disabled at that particular TV.
  • I asked Mr KL Tang to request for a new PC and a table to solve this problem.
  • Mr KL Tang contacted the technical team from P21 to ship out a PC and a table.

18/9/2020 (Friday)

Working time: 8:30am – 6:00pm

• I started my day by updating the daily yield as per request by Mr KL Tang before 9:00am.
• After that, I attended the online supervision held by UTM Supervisor, Dr Shaharil.
  • The supervision was attended by another trainee from UTM, Izzat along with my company supervisor, Mr KL Tang.
  • During the meeting, I presented the tasks I have done throughout my internship period.
  • There was a Q&A session between us. Dr Shaharil asked Mr KL Tang to give out some comments on my performance.
• Later, I learnt how to evaluate data on cycle time from Kak Nurul.
  • Cycle time is the time to complete each process.
  • I extracted data from the ShopFloor and began evaluating and analyse the data according to requirement.
• After lunch break, I went to MCOB A Department with Mr KL Tang.
  • There, we met with Ibrahim along with Mr Vincent, the Vice President of SMT Department.
  • Mr Vincent was settling an issue on the the separating machine.
  • Since I have no urgent matter to be done, I helped out Mr Vincent and Ibrahim to settle a few things regarding the separating machine issues.
• For the TV issue, Mr KL Tang informed me that P21 technical team has approved on delivering a PC and a table as per requested.
• The delivery will be done on the upcoming Monday.
