6 August (Monday)

 

  • Being introduced to En Syukri to learn about electrical.

7 August

(Tuesday)

 

  •  A “Blackout Situation” means that the main and auxiliary machinery installation, including the main power supply, are out of operation but the services for bringing them into operation (e.g. compressed air, starting current from battery) are available.
  • The electrical power is necessary to restore propulsion, the capacity of the emergency source shall be sufficient to restore propulsion to the ship in conjunction to other machinery, from dead ship condition within 30 min after blackout.
  • Recover of dead ship

    1) by using battery/spring load  start the emergency/back up generator.(now you have enough power for emergency lighting/air compressors/fuel/lube oil and main engine cooling pumps.
    2)Start the air compressor and run until cylinder is filled with enough pressure(15/30bar) 
    3)simultaneously start the engine cranking with air , fuel /lube oil pumps and cooling pumps.
    4)achieve rated rpm and rated voltage on generator and charge the MSB

  • The most important thing to analysis is the throat thickness
  • Usually there are 2 type of connection which are butt joint and Fillet weld.
  • There are 2 type of fillet weld: Continuous and Intermittent (chain, scallop and staggered)
