-      Getting whole set of books -Rule of Steel Ship

-      Meet with my supervisor- Mr Ch’ng Poh Weng (Plan Approval Manager)

-      A software (StarBoat) is being introduced by my supervisor.

·         Program dedicated to structural assessment of cargo ships less than 65 m and non-cargo ships less than 90 m (NR600)  

-      Read the book rule of steel ship

-          Writing report / comment on ship arrangement

·         Request for classification

·         Number of bulkhead

·         Collison bulkhead location

-          Download all the relevant software in cluding MARS 2000, Rudder and StarBoat.

-          Self-learning the software MARS 2000 following the user guide.

** MARS programme performs the rule scantling check of plating and ordinary stiffeners at any tranverse section along the ship hull. It allows to carry out all the rule strength check of:

• Strakes (section)
• Longtudinal and tranverse ordinary stiffeners. (section)
• Strakes and ordinary stiffeners of tranverse bulkhead.(bulkhead)

-          Try to understand the theory behind by reading to the book- Rule of Steel Ship- Part B Hull and Stability.

-          Read the book rule of steel ship

-      Being teach by Mohd Afiq Mohammad Samian (Marine Surveyor (LPO)) based on the piling barge regarding the Mars2000 (section) including:

·         Basic Ship Data

·         Panels

·         Nodes

·         Strake (thickness of plate)

·         Longitudinal stiffener

·         Compartment Loading case
