Leadership Reflection

            The software engineering course has a project that required students to form a group of 4 – 5 peoples to complete the project. In our group, we have 5 members including me, they are Nurfatin Iwanina Binti Mohd Abdul Rashid, Nurul Hazleen Natasya Binti Yusni, Aminul Hakim Bin Md Rafie, and Abdrahman Ahmed Abdi. In P1, I was the leader of project task 1. We had a small discussion through Discord during the free time of the class. I will always start to unmute myself and be active in the discussion in case some of them are too shy to talk since some of us did not know each other at the first time. To break this awkward situation, I think they may prefer to type out their opinion in text, so most of the time we use WhatsApp groups to communicate with each other. In every Problem-Solving section, I will prepare the Google Document in the group Google Drive prepared by Dr.Norsham. I will share the link to the WhatsApp group and ask them for an opinion on the questions of the problem-solving. We will discuss how to divide the questions and how we help each other to complete the problems. As a leader in a team, I think that I should respect all opinions and let my teammates decide on how they wanted to solve the questions. Therefore, we will divide the questions by assigning ourselves to the question based on how many people needed in the question that we had decided. When we complete our assigned questions, we will help others on the next questions to complete their questions as soon as possible. This worked on how we solved our project tasks too. We will go through the rubric and discuss how to divide the task in order to complete it perfectly. Most of the time, we will assign ourselves voluntarily based on our ability and the way that we think it was fair to everyone.

            During P1, I will make sure I remind my teammates to complete their task on time and I will list down the due date of the task so that we can submit our P1 on time. I was appreciated that all of my teammates are willing to help and able to complete their tasks on time. I appreciate that they are hard-working and even though not all of them are able to take the main part of the report of the project, they are willing to share their responsibility to help the one who is weak and forgetful. Hazleen is a caring person that she will always remind me of some details of the project that I might forget. She is an awesome teammate that she is able to help us to complete task no matter project report or problem-solving. Furthermore, Aminul as the monitor of our Bioinformatics class is proactive to take any responsibility in our team. He will always be the last to choose a task in our project to make sure that we have the chance to get what we able to contribute in the team. Although Iwanina is a quiet and shy girl, she is helpful and kind. She is willing to help Abdrahman to complete his task in problem-solving when he sometimes forgets or unable to complete his part. Abdrahman is a punctual person. Even though he is a foreigner, he will always complete his part in the project by the given time to not drag the team behind, so that we will always submit the project on time.

            To sum up everything stated above, I am really happy and appreciate having a nice team and a good team-working experience with them. Moreover, all of us have good communication that we will always make sure we are using English as the communication language since we have a foreigner teammate. We will always ensure that he can understand us, in order to not put him aside. Without my teammates, I am unable to complete the project in a relaxed mood.

      In my project 2 of probability and statistical data analysis, I choose the topic of online business sales. Actually, this is not my first choice of dataset. I had change three sets of data and finally, I found the perfect match dataset for my project. In the process of choosing a suitable dataset, I had really understood about correlation and regression. I had changed my previous datasets because the datasets have fewer variables that do not fulfill this project. To find the suitable dataset, I had read the slides of correlation and regression for many times to make sure I would not choose the wrong dataset. I also try to calculate for the test that I want to use in the project for every dataset that I was interested in to ensure the datasets can fulfill the requirements for those analytic tests. I found my datasets from many websites and last my suitable dataset was from Kaggle.com which is about the sales of a small unnamed online business. I was learned to be careful and serious after the process of finding datasets.

       After finding the dataset, I do some analytic studies such as hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, goodness-of-fit test, and ANOVA test with R studio. Before I proceed to R studio, I had read the slides and google to learn how I can do these tests on R studio. For this time, I can understand the slides and the tutorial from the internet easier because this is not the first time that I get in touch with R studio. So, for this time, doing some analytic test became easier for me and it took less time compared to the first time I did my project with R Studio. This project is a good experience for me to know that R Studio is a really convenient software that can help us with the analysis. 

     In short, this project had helped to improve the way I do things. I can deal with bottleneck problems calmly and solve my problem maturely. Not only that, but I had also learned to prepare everything before I starting to do my project to make sure that I would not make any mistake in the halfway of doing my project.

    Technology and Information System is the course that introduce us the uses of information systems and technology in daily life as well as introduce the hardware, software, network communications, internet, multimedia, graphics and system applications to us. In this course, we were given a chance to learn about the skill in handling PC installation in the lab. I had learn about the components of PC and I am able to set up the PC by myself.

    In this course, we also attend to a lot of  exhibition to learn new things that I never had the chance to take a close look before. We had attend to an exhibition at MAGICX and i had explored to a lot of modern technologies.

     We had learnt about the 3D printer that the printer is a machine that can print or manufacture a three-dimensional object from digital file by depositing materials layer by layer in accordance to the object’s 3D digital model. We also learnt about the manipulation of 3D printer and the types of 3D printer filament, all of them made from different material to satisfy the requirement of user, such as PLA, ABS, TPU and Nylon. 

     I also try the Virtual Reality of Oculus Quest. Oculus Quest is a gaming system built which allows user to glimpse the real world in monoscophic black and white through the integral cameras. This virtual reality (VR) gaming is basically a headset that is portable and you just need a cable or USB to plug it into your personal computer or anywhere you desired. I had learn how to use the VR headset and I am so impressed that the VR had no distinct lag when I move around with the virtual arms.

     As reflection, Technology and Information System open our eyes and let us explore to the new technologies once we have visiting a new exhibition. I hope that I can learn a lot while we enjoying ourselves in the course. I would like to use the knowledge that I learnt from those exhibitions to be more competitive than others when  looking for jobs after graduate. I hope that I can gain more knowledge and more experiences in technology field. This will helps me in my future life because nowadays technology is a very important field that can change the world. I hope that I can use the knowledge that I learnt from this course to make my future more convenient.

     Science and Technology Thinking is a course that emphasizes paradigm shifts, holistic solutions to current issues, transformations and innovations, science and technology philosophies in the context of National Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy in line with Industry 4.0 development and efforts towards humanizing science and technology. In the course, we were taught to be able to explain the development of science and technology thinking in human civilization from the early days until now, make inferences about the scientific thought ecosystem that include aspects of human and religious relations, the importance of the value and ethical systems, and the role of science in life and analyze current issues related to transformation and innovation in science and technology thinking.

     In this course, we were given an assignment to create a prototype that can make benefits to this society. In this assignment, I had learnt that thinking out of the box and creativity can make our problems been solved in a different but simpler way.

      We had manage to divide our tasks so that we can complete our prototype in the given time. For an example, we had divide our tasks to complete our video about the prototype. Good communication skill can avoid conflict and make your teammates feel respected when you are willing to have a good conversation with them. Furthermore, listening to your teammates can make the progress of the assignment complete smoothly because all of us can exchange our minds and this make our work become easier. 

     Last but not least, from this course, I had learnt for about the development of the industrial revolution. I had learnt that the process of industrial revolution from 1.0 to 4.0 which the factories in industrial revolution 1.0 produce the products in large amount by using steam and water until the industrial revolution 4.0 that factories used the technology of cloud to connect the plants and factories. Not only that, I also found that the powerful of technology nowadays that artificial intelligence is going to replace human in several types of career that astonish me. From the lesson about the IR 4.0, I knew that knowledge and skills are the most important things that can make us employed in the future.

 In my first semester of my University life, I involve in an interesting course named Graduate Success Attributes(GSA) with an interesting lecturer named Associate Professor Dr. Azlan Mohd Zain. We were grouped to work on our projects. My teammates are Arif Masyhur bin Mohamed Hatta, Kang Chu Ning, Nur Afifah binti Mohd Dali, Aminul Hakim bin Md Rafie, Lee Bao Yi, Nur Ayuni binti Ab Aziz, and Nurul Liyana binti Mohd Yusof. We had done 3 interesting group projects, and the details about the first two projects can be seen in this link, https://eportfoliogsa.wordpress.com/ , this website is worked by our best teammate Nur Afifah binti Mohd Dali, she is such a responsible person.

       Our first project is the Gesture Games, we had made some group discussion to think about our games. Finally, we figured out three games, which are Clothespin Colour Grouping, "Radio Rosak", and Silent Mode. The process of our game was smooth because of the team working of all of us. From our first project, I had learnt that team working can make a group project be done smoothly. Without the helps of every teammates in our group, our project cannot be done successfully. Furthermore, creativity is very important for us to complete our project and make our project more interesting so that others can enjoy our games as well.

     Our second project is an indoor activity with the purpose of let us know more about tradisional culture. Hence, our group planned to perform the Zapin which is a Malay dance that popular in Malaysia. We had learnt the dance from Youtube. Our second performance is Tarian Lantai that we got our inspire from orientation and the camp that we had attended in. From this project, I had learnt that thinking out of the box is the very important skill to solve some problems, for example we think out of the box to make our performance more attractive to the audiences. Besides, focus is one of the skill that I had learnt from this project. Focusing on something that we wish to complete can make us done our task without distracting.

     Our last group project is shooting a video. We chose the tittle of ETHICS AND INTEGRITY, and we had divide our task to complete the shooting project. From the shooting process, I learnt that communication skill is very important to make us a perfect video. This is because communication lets us understand each other and we can discuss our idea together to make our video more interesting.

     Last but not least, I had done the final assignment which is the individual assignment by writting How UTM Seven Graduate Success Attributes Could Affect Your Study And Future Career? From this assignment, I found that lifelong learning is very important. This is because knowledge or surviving skill is very important in our life. One cannot live without knowledge, while we’re busy learning a new skill or acquiring new knowledge, we’re also building other valuable skills that can help us in our personal and professional lives. This is because we utilize other skills in order to learn something new. For example, learning to sew requires problem-solving.
