MUHARRIR

In this election event, my role was as a participant and as a committee in the votes collecting sector. all of the registered committees in the votes collecting sector are separated into teams of three accompanied by a supervisor and is assigned to a certain location within the land of Johor. My team was assigned to Jementah city, located 2 hours of road-trip from UTM. We started working on April 5th to survey the area and look for the locations of residents of Indonesian citizens that are provided on a list given by the main committee. On April 12th we started collecting votes from that city, we spent more than a whole day to collect in that city alone. the next day we were assigned again to another location to collect more votes. then after the collection, we had to count our collected votes and reported it to the IT team. Throughout that hectic-work, I learned how to work well with my teammates and how to communicate too, as the job required me to communicate with the Indonesian citizen in the area.

In this event, my role was as a volunteer and a member of the committee in the accommodation sector. as a member of the committee, I was paired with a friend of mine who acted as my superior. our job was to find a venue for the event, and we had a few troubles because the first desired venue which is located strategically and is within our budget is booked by another organizer. Although in the end, we managed to secure Dewan Merdeka at KRP in the last seconds. The committee of this event worked with KPJ Johor Bahru for the equipment and staff needed. During the event, our head of the committee decided to set a goal for us to reach, which is to reach a certain number of blood packs. In order to reach that goal we advertised our event to all of our friends and asked them to volunteer. I helped by volunteering myself a pack of blood which afterward made me felt dizzy because of lower blood pressure and I was also a first-time donator.

The role I have in this event is as a participant in the event. While still being a freshman in UTM, I was selected by my fellow Indonesian seniors to participate in this event because of my height and experience in the game of basketball, they're aware of this because we had a few tryouts for the team selection. Throughout the event, we faced a lot of challenges from better opponents and find our way through together. This is where I obtained the team working skill and trust alongside my teammates. Teamwork is obtained by trusting each other and by having the same goal by all individuals involved. Our goal was to obtain a medal in that event while hoping we could obtain the highest order of that medal which is the gold medal, fortunately, we managed to reach our goal, we obtained a bronze medal in the end. We were grateful for what we had obtained and celebrated together when we got home.
