On 29 December 2023, the Global Cultural Exchange Program And Lecture Series took place at Dewan Meranti, Kolej Rahman Putra under the auspices of the UTM Tourism Planning Research Group (TPRG). A total of 250 participants in this program are students from Shimabara High School, Nagasaki, Japan. The objective of this program is to establish a relationship between two countries namely Japan and Malaysia. This program lasts for five hours only, starting from 8am to 1pm. Various interesting activities were held on the day including the performance of the song "Warisan" by UTM students, the singing of the Japanese national anthem by Shimabara students, silat cekak, zapin dance, soran bushi and many more.

Self Reflection:

As a multimedia committee for this program, I am responsible for blasting participation posters on various platforms to invite many more UTM students to participate in this program together. In addition, I was also tasked with producing videos and taking pictures throughout the program. The complex program schedule ran smoothly due to constant communication and support from other parties and the organizers.

Although I was not assigned to any group as a facilitator, I was still treated well by all the students of Shimabara High School. They were very friendly and welcomed me when I was wandering around as a photographer. It's like sunlight that breaks through the clouds of silence when one of them invites me to join their circle. My heart swelled with gratitude and anticipation, eager to weave myself into the tapestry of their shared laughter and experiences. I also received a lot of souvenir from them.

Overall I can say that the program is running smoothly and has successfully achieved its objectives. I learned many things from this program such as culture, language, games and also interesting experiences. Apart from the cultural exchange, I also realized that I have improved myself in terms of personal growth and transformation. This is because I managed to get out of my comfort zone and face different points of view which led to personal growth, increased self-confidence and a broader understanding of the world.

Mini Report:

On 19 May 2023, the Shimmy with Zumba 2023 Program took place at the Basketball Court, College 9, organized by the Student of Human Resource Development (SMART) UTM. A total of 35 participants in this program are made up of various faculties and colleges. This program is open to all Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) students. However, the participants who attended this program were mostly from nearby residential colleges such as Kolej 9, Kolej Perdana and Kolej Tuanku Chancellor. This is because of time and transportation factors that make it difficult for UTM students to participate in this program. As written on the program poster, this program only lasts for one hour. The objective of this program is to create and develop a healthy lifestyle.

Self Reflection:

I am an active participant in this Zumba program. In the beginning, surrounded by strangers, my friends and I felt awkward and intimidated by the Zumba instructor's energetic pace and complex moves. But the instructor, radiating contagious joy, skillfully guided us through the steps, encouraging every stumble and celebrating every shimmy. The initial awkwardness faded with each class, replaced by a sense of camaraderie and accomplishment. The Zumba program became more than just exercise; it was a sanctuary from stress, a rediscovery of joy in unexpected places, and a reminder that joy can be found in different rhythms, both literal and metaphorical.

We have been assigned the task of finding some items for the use of the program such as tables, water dispensers and plastic cups and also some others buy fruits, bread and air.I am happy to be able to follow this program as a committee. I was able to add many more contacts from various faculties at UTM. They were very friendly and cooperative throughout the program. They also provide support to make this program a success.

Overall, I can see the program going smoothly and successfully achieving its objectives. There are many advantages that I can get from participating in this program to understand cooperation in groups, be brave in choices and I can also add contacts.
