Reflection 1 : Haqim bin Hanafi

On 23rd of October 2019, my classmates and i from section 10 were assigned to conduct an electrical measurement experiment. Before we start our experiment, our lecturer, Dr. Anita gave a  short briefing about our experiment. We were told to form a group of three or two. So I've chose Hafiz and Hilman as my teammates. We were given two tasks which are finding the voltage also the current and find the resistor (Wheatstone's bridge).

For Part A, we need to identify the value of Rx. First, we measure the voltage and current for other component in the circuit. For current measurement, we connect the ammeter to the resistor in series while we connect voltmeter to the resistor in parallel to measure the voltage. Then, we use Kirchhoff’s circuit law to calculate the value of Rx using the measured value. At the same time, we also measure the value of Rx using digital multimeter. The value of Rx using mathematical approach is 323.33Ω while using digital meter is 326.3Ω.

For Part B, we need to identify the value of Rpot when the Wheatstone’s Bridge is in balance condition using mathematical approach and digital multimeter. In order to balance the Wheatstone’s Bridge, we change the value of Rpot until the digital multimeter shows zero value. The value of Rpot using mathematical approach is 17.7kΩ while using digital meter is 11.5kΩ.
