Reflection 1 by Muhamad Hilman bin Haris (A18KE0129)

On 23th of October,   we need to do an experiment in a group consists of two or three members. The experiment consists of two parts. The first part we need to measure the current and voltage of certain resistor. In order to do it we need to use some digital instrument such as ammeter, voltmeter and many more. The first step we calculate the value of the resistor that we want to apply in the circuit and record the measurement.

 

Next, we measure the current and the voltage of the resistor by using ammeter and voltmeter. To measure the current, we must connect the ammeter series with the resistor. For measurement of voltage, we need to connect the voltmeter parallel with the resistor. From the current and voltage recorded, we find the value of the resistor by using Kirchhoff’s Current Law. The value of resistor get from the calculation slightly different with the previous one. This is because there is some error happen in the circuit such as heat loss that make the value become different.

The second part of the experiment is we need to adjust the potentiometer to get a balanced bridge by using Wheatstone’s Bridge. By using the multimeter, we measure the current in order to get no current flow because this will indicate that the bridge is balance. So, we adjust the potentiometer until we get zero current flow. Then, we measure the resistance of the potentiometer. Unfortunately for second part we did not manage to finish the experiment as we do some mistake and we cannot do it again because running out of time.

Lastly, I want to thank Puan Anita because she guided us very well where we do not know well how to do experiment. Finally, I want to thank my group member for their co-operations throughout the experiment been done
