The Greening Malaysia: 100 Million Trees Planting Campaign was a volunteer project which was done by the university students that aimed to address the issue of deforestation and climate change by planting 100 million trees throughout Malaysia. I joined this event as a representative of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. As a volunteer, my role was to assist in the preparation and planting of the trees, as well as the maintenance of the planting site.
During the project, I helped in preparing the planting site by clearing any debris and marking out the areas where the trees were to be planted. I also assisted in the actual planting of the trees, ensuring that each tree was planted correctly and in the correct location. Additionally, I helped in maintaining the planting site by watering and weeding around the newly planted trees.
The impact of this project was significant, both for the environment and for myself as a volunteer. Planting these trees helped to address the issue of deforestation and contributed to the fight against climate change. It was also a great opportunity to learn more about the importance of preserving our natural resources and the impact of human activity on the environment. On a personal level, it was a great opportunity to give back to the community and make a positive impact.
One of the main challenges I faced during the project was the physical labor involved in preparing and planting the trees. It was hard work, but with the help of my fellow volunteers, we were able to overcome this challenge and successfully plant the trees.
Overall, the Greening Malaysia: 100 Million Trees Planting Campaign was a valuable and rewarding experience. It allowed me to make a difference in the fight against climate change and contribute to the preservation of our natural resources. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this project and will always remember the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that came with it. I hope this initiative will continue and be successful in the long run and I will always support any environmental friendly projects in the future.
Uniform Bodies, Club and Society Carnival (UNBOCS Carnival) was an event held by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The event was held from 20th to 22th October. This carnival was held for the purpose of strengthening the relationship between UTM and its uniform bodies, clubs and societies. It was also organized to provide a platform for these bodies to promote their activities and programs to the university community. UNBOCS Carnival was open to all UTM students, staff and the public. It was an opportunity for the university community to come together.
UNBOCS Carnival is the biggest carnival event in UTM with various activities and performances. The activities and programs featured in this carnival are designed to promote the university’s culture and values. The carnival also serves as a platform for the uniform bodies, clubs and societies to showcase their talents, capabilities and potentials.
In this event, I have learned a lot of new things. I have met with people from different backgrounds and also different clubs and societies of UTM. I have come to know about their activities and programs. This helped me to know about how different clubs are organized. I have developed my communication skill as I have talked with many representatives from different clubs in this event. This event has also helped me to think about developing myself more and becoming a global citizen.
To sum up, the UNBOCS Carnival at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia was an excellent opportunity to promote unity and collaboration among students, faculty, staff, and community members. The carnival showcases the cultural richness of Malaysia and provides a platform for students to express their creativity and show off their skills. The carnival also serves as a way to bring the university closer to the public, allowing them to interact and learn more about the university and its activities. Overall, the UNBOCS Carnival at UTM is a great way to promote the university and its many activities.
“Code On Weekend: Python” was a great opportunity for the UTM students to learn and practice coding using Python, one of the world’s most popular and powerful programming languages. This event provided students with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to hone their python coding skills. The event was held by PERSAKA, an academic club for all students of the Faculty of Computing. This event was held on 26th November.
The event included lectures, hands-on coding challenges, and open discussion about coding in python. Attendees also had the opportunity to collaborate with each other and share their coding experiences.
I was the mentor of this event. My role as a mentor was to provide guidance and support to the students in their coding journey. I provided them with resources on the language and coding best practices, as well as helped them with specific coding issues they encountered. I also reviewed their code and offered feedback on ways to improve it. Additionally, I helped them to think logically and problem-solve difficult coding challenges. Finally, I provided motivation and encouragement to help the students stay focused and motivated throughout the program.
This event has increased my leadership skill, communication skill, team working skill, adaptability skill and many more. I have learned and experienced a lot of new things through this event.
At the end of the event, participants walked away with the skills needed to confidently code in python and the confidence to tackle any coding project.
Creativity, innovation and inspiration were three words that came to mind as I reflected on the cultural event we had at Dewan Perdana on 13th November. The program name was “Story telling & Poem Recitation Night”. This event was held by ISS-Bangladesh. It was great to experience an event as a participant where people from my country shared our culture through stories, poems, songs and dance performances. The story telling part was a good time, as I learned some interesting information about the lives of these students that I did not know beforehand. I have also shared my life story with the audiences and have received a lot of positive feedbacks. As I understand this event, it has worked well for me as a way to engage with the host and community members. Through the storytelling event, I have been able to strengthen relationship with those who cared about me and also with those who want to know more about me. Additionally, it has given me a chance to get in touch with myself and reflect on how my migration has changed me as a person. It was a great moment when everyone in the audience clapped and cheered me. I have gained the communication skill and public speaking skill as I have shared my story in front of a lot of audience. It has also increased my adaptability. In this event, we have also enjoyed poem recitations, songs and some dance performances. Some of my friends sang songs. Some have also recited poem.
At the end, the story telling and poem recitation event ended with everyone feeling inspired and connected to the stories, songs and poems shared. The audience left with a better understanding of the power of stories, songs and poems and how they can be used to make an impact in the world. Everyone was filled with appreciation for the amazing performers and the organizers. As they left, they all shared a sense of hope that events like this one will continue to bring people together and help spread the power of stories, songs and poems.
I need to put in a lot of effort in order to maximize my potential in this field. I need to learn a lot of things. I'll have to do a lot of studying and attend a lot of seminars and workshops to achieve this. In order to gain experience, I will work freelancing jobs in addition to my studies in order to qualify for a high-demand career in this field.
