REFLECTION OF PCP II

Assalamualaikum Wr.Wb.

Assc.Prof.Dr. Azeman Mustafa

 

Things we've learned in the last month are

1)The second laws of the thermodynamics

“energy systems have a tendency to increase their entropy(chaos) rather than decrease it”

2)Heat engines

For two given heat reservoirs no engine can  have a thermal efficiency higher than that of a Carnot engine.the thermal efficiency of a Carnot engine depends only on the temperature levels and not upon the working substance of the engine.Heat engine operates in a completely reversible manner,irreversible processes.Thermal efficiency,maximum work output,minimum work inputcarnot’s equations,temperature scales,refrigerators and heat pumps.

3)Entropy

Isentropic process (a process during which the entropy remains constant),Entropy changes of an ideal gas constant volume and constant pressure,entropy generation,entropy balance for open systems,entropy balance for cosed system,isentropic efficiencies.

4)Power and Refrigeration system

Carnot cycle,thermal efficiency of carnot engine,about the process carnot vapor cycle,about rankine cycle,steady flow energy equation,how to draw T-s diagram

5)Refrigeration cycles

Steady flow energy balance,how the schematic and T-s diagrams for the actual vapor compression refrigeration cycle,ideal vapor compression refrigeration cycle.

Chapter 9

Assalamualaikum Wr.Wb.

In this chapter we learn about:

1).How calculate standard heat of reaction,standard heat of combustion,standard heat of      formation,heat of combustin and formation method.

2).We learn too how to use hess's law with many reaction.

3).Reference state for enthalpy table,if with heat of formation method we use element            species,the temperature.

4).The standard heat of formation of a liquid solution,the higher heating value and the            lower heating value.

5).The adiabatic flame temperature of a fuel.

I hope i get the better score in test 2.Thank you for all the knowledge that you had thought to us Prof Madya Dr Azeman bin Mustafa.I wish I never forget what I learned,Wasalam.

PCPII

In chapter 8

1).In chapter 8 our simplified equation is Q=∆U= and Q=∆H,what we learn from semester past still we use it in this chapter.

2).I learn how using Hypothetical Processes Path (how some substance change in phase,change in temperature,change in pressure), Kopp's Rule and Watson's Correlation to estimate of heat capacities.

3).I learn how to read and draw Psychrometric chart to find dew point,relative humidity,humid volume,wet bulb temperature,specific enthalpy of saturated air.

4).Use table B.1,B.2,B.8B.10, to find enthalpy.

I wish I never forget what I learn ,Wasalam.

SKKK1113's learning experience

I've come to realize that pcp is fun even if it's not my best subject. I can always enjoy doing pcp, but it's hard for me to enjoy other subjects the same way. it seems like especially in high school, many people don't use pencils anymore, but pens, even for pcpclass sometimes. Every subject requires a pen or pencil, but pcp just seems to prefer a pencil.So we have been learn chapter 3 to 7,it's really fun during the class.I learn many things about mass balance,how to make strawberry jam(in pcp not in cooking).in chapter 4 i learn abou recylce,bypas,chemical reaction stoichiometry,limitting and excess reactantsDOF,always make draw,input=output,,molecular species balances,atomic balance,extent reaction,combustion,wet n dry bases,

Chapter 5 learn about single phase system,ideal gases,real gases,STP,SCM,SCF,

Chapter 6 we learn about how read phase diagram,superheated,when become boiling point,bubble point dew point,raoult's law and henry's law,different liquid n vapor with easy example like bottle fill with water,how to read table B5,B7,

Chapter 7 about energy balance,define term closed system n open system,isothermal process,adiabatic process,first law of thermodynamics.For this subject i give everything to understand pcp,i so miss this class when the first person who came to the class it's not me.I hope i can get the good result,Thank you for all the knowledge that you had thought to us Prof Madya Dr Azeman bin Mustafa.
