Things we've learned in the last month are

1)The second laws of the thermodynamics

“energy systems have a tendency to increase their entropy(chaos) rather than decrease it”

2)Heat engines

For two given heat reservoirs no engine can  have a thermal efficiency higher than that of a Carnot engine.the thermal efficiency of a Carnot engine depends only on the temperature levels and not upon the working substance of the engine.Heat engine operates in a completely reversible manner,irreversible processes.Thermal efficiency,maximum work output,minimum work inputcarnot’s equations,temperature scales,refrigerators and heat pumps.

3)Entropy

Isentropic process (a process during which the entropy remains constant),Entropy changes of an ideal gas constant volume and constant pressure,entropy generation,entropy balance for open systems,entropy balance for cosed system,isentropic efficiencies.

4)Power and Refrigeration system

Carnot cycle,thermal efficiency of carnot engine,about the process carnot vapor cycle,about rankine cycle,steady flow energy equation,how to draw T-s diagram

5)Refrigeration cycles

Steady flow energy balance,how the schematic and T-s diagrams for the actual vapor compression refrigeration cycle,ideal vapor compression refrigeration cycle.
