Who Am I?

Hello, my name is Omar, and I am a software engineering student at UTM. Unlike most people, I didn't really have any problems deciding what field I wanted to study. Since I was a small kid, I've always had a strong interest in several fields related to computing. Being a gamer, I always curious about how the games I played were made. My love for gaming, however, was not the reason I picked a computing field. The reason I picked this course is because I'm extremely intrested in two topics: virtual reality and AI. My interest in these two fields far outweighs my interest in programming. A kid once dreamed about creating a world filled with AI that had the mental capabilities of a human and entering this world that he created (ok I'll admit I was under the influence of shows and games). Now that I'm here, I'll make sure I do not dissapoint myself. My love for writing (writing is a hobby of mine) increases my interest in these fields further; Thinking about the potential impact that technology could have on storytelling is fascinating. I'm quite happy with the field that I've chosen, and I hope that this will remain the case in the future.

PSDA Projects 1 and 2

During my first PSDA project, I learnt how useful the concepts I'm learning in the subject are. The methods we are learning can be implemented to many things and can be used to analyze different sorts of data. In the 2nd project, we used other methods that allowed us to perform more types of tests on the data. The projects taught us how to determine the questions that we will test and how to classify the results that we get. The projects increased our mastery in the subject overall and taught us valuable skills that will be needed in the future.

CICT Reflection

The CICT visit has taught me that work related to computers and the internet is in high demand. The visit intensified my belief that software engineering will be a valid career path in the future. I will continue exploring this field as I pursue my interests.

MDEC Reflection

MDEC presented an intresting sevice, Erezki, that could be extremely useful for aqcuiring bonus income. Erezki could provide good training and be a great way for an uprising software engineer to gain some recognition. Freelancing on Erezki might be a good idea in the future.

Industrial Visit - One Maker Reflection

I wish to work in fields related to VR and AI in the future; therefor, this trip was extremely useful for me. The visit showed me that the fields I chose are good career paths. Trying to resolve the problems mentioned in the talk will help me prepare for the future.
