About me

People always ask me why have I chosen this field. The reason is because I have envisioned myself as a successful chemical engineer since I was 17. Since the chemical engineering field is so wide, the career choices are endless but I would prefer to join the pharmaceutical field or the cosmetics field.

Let me share something about myself. I am a person who loves making new friends but I am not so confident in approaching people and making them making them my friends. If you’re my friend I will make sure that I never disappoint you in terms of friendship. I have an undying love for dance.I would love to learn a number of dance forms in future. It always fascinates how some people are so gifted that they are able to dance so gracefully.

Apart from that, travelling and eating makes me happy too. So far I have only visited a few countries namely India,Thailand and Korea. The country I am dying to visit is Turkey. That country is so beautiful in pictures and I would love to experience that with my own eyes. There is a place named Cappadocia where you can fly in a hot air balloon. I always eat when I’m free or hungry(that explains why I gain weight so fast). I am a sweet tooth and I really fancy eating desserts that have chocolate in them. Trying out new delicacies can be considered to be a fun thing to do for me.

For now, I guess this introduction should suffice.

INTERNSHIP

12 weeks of internship at YTY Sdn. Bhd. had taught me a lot in terms of knowledge, perseverance and teamwork. YTY Industry Sdn. Bhd. is a glove manufacturing company which is well know for its nitrile gloves.

I was placed in the research and development (R&D) department throughout my internship. I was taught on how to do compounding based on the given formulations, the hand dipping process, stripping process and also the dimensions of the gloves. I was taught every process very thoroughly so that I was able to attain a proper understanding on it.

Apart from that, the working environment there was extremely comfortable and fun to work. My colleagues were very supportive and were very willing to teach me new things. For instance, one of my colleagues taught me and allowed me to use the microscope, particle sizer and the machine used to measure of the contact angle and the surface tension of a liquid on a surface.

My relationship with my colleagues have been rather amazing as they were all so welcoming and easy to mingle with. I even had the chance to join the boss's birthday celebration that they had at the company. We even had a photo session with the entire R&D department for Hari Malaysia.

All in all, I would say that this internship has been an eye opening experience on how working life actually looks like. Its certainly not as easy as it seems but it definitely isn't impossible. The polymer industry has given me a lot to watch and learn which has been very exciting and interesting. Even though, I do not intend on venturing into this field in future, it was a really good learning experience.

The Freedom Run

There was a run organized in Cheras known as the Freedom Run.We decided to participate as the  volunteers  under IM4U for this run as they didn't have enough volunteers to help them out. This was a great experience to watch people go all out to reach the finishing line.
