About me

My name is Muhammad Rushdan Mohd Azhar. Rushdan for short. I'm currently enrolled to study engineering at MJIIT majoring in chemical process to be exact. I'm hoping to finish my studies in under 4 years and immediately pursue a masters degree in business admin before attempting to get into the CFA qualification board. This might surprise a whole lot as to why I chose to come here and study engineering over enrolling myself into a business school. Besides the fact that most corporate titans or top CEOS are as likely to have backgrounds in engineering and technology, my simple answer to this is would be, I always dream of having my very own profitable and charitable business, having the luxury to work at my own hours as well as having the financial capability to make a long lasting change in the world. If I were to dive in deeper and reflect on my prior experiences with regards to entrepreneurship, I would say that I have indeed some prior exposure be it directly or indirectly. My late father was a well respected economist, so naturally most of our everyday interactions involves something in the realm of finance and how people make money. I was brought up in an environment that appreciates the art of business making and how big company owners help change the face of the world. I wouldn’t go as far as to say that I had previously owned a business, but I have certainly dabbled into some form of it. I have led a couple of charity events before meaning I had to make use of modern marketing techniques as well as providing great customer service.

I had come a long way to ensure that I am constantly improving myself because I believe without having necessary knowledge or certain set of skills, one could not be successful as an entrepreneur. I pride myself of having a good reading habit. I simply read a lot. Be it traditional books, online news articles, podcasts or audiobooks. I am constantly seeking for information. And from that, I see opportunities that some might not. I am also inept with my own personal finance skills. I track what I buy and how my money was spent on a regular basis. I would not go through a month without a budget and I’m also not an avid shopper. I will most of the time invest in long lasting things rather than impulse buy everything I see every now and then. I truly believe that every entrepreneur must possess a good command of their own finances before even dreaming of start a multi million dollar business. Other than that, I am a productive person. I simply can't stand not having anything to do and always seek new things and opportunities to learn. I enjoy attending classes that would connect me with other like minded individuals and help me boost my interpersonal skills.

As I as mentioned previously, there are certain areas that I’m still looking to improve to become a good entrepreneur. Being a college student and a guy who generally wants to do everything all the time, I tend to not have the best time management. I often feel like 24 hours is simply not enough for me to check everything out of my daily to-do list. It could very well be because I am not strict when in comes to prioritizing things that needs my immediate attention. I could very well see this becoming a problem in the future if I do not address this issue. Time is often at a premium when an individual first kick starts a business. I most definitely do not want to work more hours than required which in turn would lead me to sacrifice precious family time, sleep or even relaxation time. Working more hours doesn't necessarily mean I will get more things done. Rather this will lead to a decrease in overall productivity. As a business owner, I need to be someone whom people can rely on.
