Report Activity No.1 AWS Cloud Foundations RSS

My Journey with AWS

Report

How did I get the badge?

Everyone who studies computer science in UTM is given an account in AWS academy. I was required to finish this offline course as an assessment, but it wasn't all about the marks. I am curios how cloud computing works and taking this course gave me an overview about it. So as soon as I finished the course I got my badge.

When did I start?

Even though the course was given to us in the beginning of the semester, I only started in the mid semester break. I wanted to clear my mind and just focus on one thing at a time. I finished 5 modules during that week, and the last 5 modules I distribute them throughout the semester.

How does the badge look like?

You may use this link here to view the badge and also to see how it looks like.

Self Reflection

What did I gain?

I learned basic knowledge about cloud computing and Amazon web services.

The main motivation

My main motivation was curiosity. I wanted to know how companies can use technology to run their business and how cloud computing makes things way more easier compared to traditional methods

My opinion

The course had a lot of talking rather than implying. Nevertheless, theory part is the basic of any science and it is important.

Is it worth it?

Totally worth it. Especially for those who are interested in technology, because cloud computing is the futuristic way of managing big projects.

Feedback

Some more real world implication will make it even more fun to learn and more useful.

Should companies use cloud computing?

I totally agree that companies should shift to cloud computing. It is more efficient, affordable and even more secure.

Should Students learn it?

Whoever is seeking an improvement in the field of technology must learn about cloud computing. It is very interesting.

My advice

If you are interested in cloud computing, don't stop here! Follow other courses and learn more about it. Do research and find what you are interested in.

What is after this course?

I am planning to have an overview about Microsoft Azure, then decide what suites my goals better. After that, be an expert in one of them, or maybe both!

What do I feel after getting the badge?

It was like the gift that you receive after an achievement. It remarks my progress and adds value to my CV. It will definitely help me chase my dreams in the future.

Report Activity No.2 Probability and Statistical Data Analysis RSS

Data Analysis of the Number of Vaccinated People in Malaysia

Manipulating and Organizing Datasets

In our project we chose a dataset that contains a record of all vaccinated people in Malaysia ever since the vaccination process started. For doing data analysis, we just take a sample of the whole population because it is easier to manage. In our project, we only picked the vaccination record from January 2022 until May 2022 to make it easier for us to test the data.

Knowing the Different Types of Test Statistics

In this course we learned different types of tests like, Hypothesis testing, Correlation, Regression, ANOVA, and many other tests. In our project, we managed to imply these tests in a real-life example where we compared the number of vaccinated people in each month and whether they took their first dose of their second dose.

R Programming

To make this project more beneficial, we had to use R programming to do the calculations needed. What is so interesting, in my opinion, is that there are thousands of built-in functions that allow us to do the calculations just by knowing the name of the function and what does it exactly do.

The Outcome of the Project

After finishing our report and tested the data given, we concluded that people started to accept the fact that vaccination will enhance their immune system and it is compulsory for everyone to take it.

Reflection on the Project

The project gave me an insight how to do hypothesis testing in various ways. It also taught me the principles of teamwork, cooperation as well as time management. The purpose of data analytics is to organize the data so that we can make predictions and  anticipate what is going to happen in the future. With these information, we can late come up with solutions for the issues of our daily life.

Report Activity No.3 Technoloy and Information Systems RSS

What is this course about?

Industrial talks

It was talking about autonomous robots and they are  those machines that get tasks done for the humans without needing much physical effort.

It was about  the application of technology, procedures, and policies to safeguard systems, networks, programs, devices, and data from cyber threats is referred to as cyber security

Cloud computing is the delivery of, computing power, storage, and databases, etc. Over the internet

Augmented reality (AR) is a technologically augmented representation of the actual world that is created via the use of digital visual components, music, or other sensory stimulation

Ethernet and Wi-Fi has grown exponentially,  Local area networks must manage traffic generated by a number of sources, including live streaming video, network-attached storage (NAS), Voice over IP (VoIP), virtualization, cloud, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices and services.

5G is basically the 5th generation of wireless internet connection. It allows users to be connected to the internet anytime, and anywhere.  Wi-Fi 6 has started in late 2019, but unfortunately many people are using it without realizing that.

During the course we have learned how to use Power BI to do data visualization and our team applied it to visualize the number of infected people by covid-19 in Malaysia

Reflection on
Technology & Information Systems

The Goal of studying TIS

This subject taught us general knowledge about technology. It is like and overview on what we are going to study in our bachelor's degree. It covers various topics like Databases, Information Systems, Application and System Software, and many other topics.

Plan of Improvement

It helped me to decide what specific subject I'm interested in. And in my case I realized that I am into cloud computing, so I will start focusing more on that topic.

Opinion on the Subject

I think that it is mandatory for every computer science student to take this subject in there first year to have an overview on everything related to technology.

Acknowledgement for the lecturer

Dr. Halina, Dr. Shahida, and Dr. Zatul all were very helpful and they managed to explain all the topics of this subject clearly. I am thankful for having such nice lecturers like you.
