[USER EDUCATION WEBINAR] - RESEARCH INFORMATION LITERACY FOR UNDERGRADUATES (12 APRIL 2022 @ 11AM-12.30PM)

Held on 12 APRIL 2022 (@ 11AM-12.30PM)

We took part in the event and learned a lot of new stuff.
I also created and met some new friends.
The webinar session was packed with material that was really beneficial to me and potentially to the other undergrads.

CHEMPRO MOVIE NIGHT 2021

Held on 03/12/2021

This happened during my first semester of online studies in 2021. I found out about this event through a number of my friends in various faculties; the movie night sounded fun, so I went, and we used zoom to watch the film. since it was online

Sports festival 2022

From  31/10/2022 to 13/11/2022.

Numerous students from all departments participated in and competed in various sports.
The same may be said about our software engineering section.
I played futsal, which was the event's final sport.
My friends from SE and I formed a team of ten players and entered the competition.

We met lots of students from other departments, and it was enjoyable.
I discovered that winning in sports like this is impossible without teamwork.
Teamwork is a crucial ability that is frequently needed in your future employment or in company, therefore it's not just for sports ( when you have partners)

software engineering Course leadership Video

Leadership in Software Engineering

The Software Engineering course provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles, methodologies, and best practices involved in developing software systems. While technical skills are crucial in this field, the course also emphasizes the development of leadership skills to effectively manage and guide projects.

Throughout the course, students are exposed to various project phases, including the Proposal, SRS (Software Requirements Specification), SDD (Software Design Document), and STD (Software Testing Document). These phases represent critical stages in the software development lifecycle, where leadership skills are vital for project success.

Leadership skills are particularly important during the Proposal phase. As a leader, you must be able to analyze project requirements, define goals, and articulate a clear vision to stakeholders. Effective communication and persuasive abilities are necessary to gain support and secure resources for the project.

During the SRS phase, leadership skills are essential for gathering requirements from stakeholders, prioritizing them, and managing expectations. A leader must actively engage with the team and stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of the project's scope and objectives. This involves facilitating discussions, resolving conflicts, and making informed decisions to align the requirements with the project vision.

In the SDD phase, leadership skills come into play when translating requirements into a concrete design. A leader must guide the team in making design choices, assigning tasks, and organizing the development process. Clear communication and delegation are crucial to ensure a cohesive and efficient design implementation.

Leadership skills are also important in the STD phase, where testing and quality assurance take place. A leader must oversee the testing activities, coordinate with testers, and ensure that the product meets the specified requirements and quality standards. Effective leadership in this phase involves managing resources, tracking progress, and making timely decisions to address any issues or defects discovered during testing.

Overall, leadership skills are vital throughout the entire project lifecycle. They enable you to provide direction, motivate team members, foster collaboration, and make informed decisions. Strong leadership facilitates effective communication, stakeholder management, and risk mitigation, ultimately contributing to the success of the project. By honing your leadership skills in the Software Engineering course, you are better prepared to navigate the complexities of project management and lead teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Reporting is the practise of delivering facts or information to a particular audience, either in writing or verbally. In this exercise, we identified the appropriate site and the target audience, which consisted of schoolchildren between the ages of 7 and 12. Then, in order to convey important information in a way that children of this age can grasp, we created materials and activities.

Responding the process of responding to or giving comment on a certain circumstance or incident. Throughout the training, we discussed and revised our plans repeatedly until we found the best approach to carrying out an activity that would be beneficial to the children in Dusun Tua.

Reconstructing is the process of putting something back together after it has been damaged or deconstructed. This phrase can be used to describe both conceptual or physical structures. In order to make them appropriate and applicable for the intended audience and the allocated money, we had to repeatedly reconstruct or revise them while creating this activity.

Relating: Ability to meaningfully connect or relate concepts, occurrences, or individuals. The activities and checkpoints we created had to be relevant to children of that age group, and in this case, we were able to make these ideas apparent. For instance, the email in my online etiquette checkpoint allows youngsters to fill in the gaps with the right responses that suit the recipient.

Reasoning is the process of utilising logic and critical thinking to grasp complex information or make educated decisions. We had to ensure that the location we were going to was appropriate for doing the activities we wanted, and we also had to ensure that we had the appropriate audience and funding for it. To ensure that the strategy goes as predicted, a lot of reasoning and critical thinking are needed.

Technology and Information Systems (SECP1513)

I have done all my assignments that our lecturer Dr. Halinawati Hirol gave me for the SECP1513-15 course with dedication. I enjoyed the learning process by doing the assignments and improving my interpersonal skills when I had to interact with my group members. To be frank , I got to know about a lot of things in details. And some points that i came across this course made me surprised. We had quite a few  Industrial talks , the topics were pretty interesting . The assignment's that we had to do were somehow linked to the videos , which made me at least to pay full concentration during the talks.

1.What is your goal/dream concerning your course/program?

  • Master everything I learned in this course as I believe everything taught in this course is only basic. And with a solid foundation, the future path of becoming a good software engineer will be within my reach.

2.Your opinion on whether this subject contributes to your knowledge on specific area?

  • Of course, this course is at least as important to me as the other courses we had this semester. Above all, it helped me to get to know our PC in detail and also all the networks that we currently use on a daily basis, the Internet. to be one of them.

And lastly , I am extremely grateful to our lecturer Dr Halinawati Hirol  for being cooperative and for always helping us .

(DIGITAL LOGIC)

The first time I saw the name of this course, I was confused as I had no idea what this course is about whatsoever. I was looking forward to see what kind of surprises this unknown course ( which was for me before the semester) will give me. Well, I would be lying if said this course was easy but it wasn't extremely hard. It just depends on how you take the information. Our lecturer for this course was Dr. Nor Shahida Binti Hassan. One of the best teachers I ever had, she has done her best when giving the lectures regardless that we are having online class instead of face to face classes.

We had some lab classes , although unfortunately had to be done online as we are doing online classes. Nevertheless we still got to learn a lot of lab components via DEEDS and how they are being used in the real world in machines, etc.

Interestingly we got to know how the Computer that we are extremely familiar with functions by the help of 1s and 0s ( Which is the machine language). I can bet that this course was a huge boost to our knowledge and it will a lot in the field of Engineering.

Lastly I would like to thank Dr. Nor Shahida Binti Hassan for being cooperative and patient while teaching us.

Journey to finishing the AWS course

To be honest I was not expecting to have to do a AWS course at first so I was a bit astounded. So we had 10 modules and each one more detailed than the previous ( which means more videos and labs ). Those who have done the course very well knows that there is a test after we finish every module and we have to get more 80% ( 8 out of 10 questions has to be on the mark) to proceed to the next module. Although I had to repeat the test for module 7 , I managed to pass all the modules in a single run ( I am glad I was able to do that XD ). At first when I saw that I had to do a lab I was scared ( yes scared or rather not sure of what to do (?????) ) After skimming through the tutorial a few time I managed to finish the labs. Well this is what I basically did till I got my badge. Oh before I forget I used to make small notes and revise what the lectures taught in their videos.

At first I was just going after the carry marks that I will be able to get by finishing the module and afterwards the badge would help me get a decent amount of carry marks along with the other information that I would write in my e portfolio. Then I realized after finishing 2 modules that I was able to learn a lot Although this didn't change my motive I have to admit that I learned a ton of cool stuff.

I had to revise a few times before I gave a module test, the easiest modules were basically the first 3 chapters. getting the badge was not so easy but no so difficult ( Nothing is Impossible - This was my Motto )

Don't underestimate the badge, You should be proud. this badge was not given out it was earned. I learned many things after doing the course and now have a brief understanding of cloud computing.

As time passes more and more technological stuff are being invented. I would prefer that companies should shift to cloud computing. I would have done that if I had a company.

And lastly to my friends or juniors who have not done the course yet. Do not worry as it is nothing near difficult (And I had to repeat module 7 as I was not well prepared)

^_^ Thank you ^_^
