I joined the AUTOCAR Workshop by the UTM Robocon team on the 28 and 29th September 2018. The workshop was about the upcoming AUTOCAR competition where you have to make your own line-following car. It's a completely new stuff and hands-on experience for me. The seniors in the Robocon team taught us the basics of electronics, mechanism and programming which will be needed in the competition later.
After the workshop, I decided to join the competition. A mentor-mentee session was held to teach us the fundamentals of electronics part more in detail. It's quite confusing and challenging for me as I never seen this before. Each of us has our own mentor and we would get our electronics components such as resistors, LEDs, push buttons and others and turn it into a functional car. We also bought the soldering guns and leads to do soldering on the board given.
The soldering part took me 2 weeks to complete and I was out of the required schedule. Most of the other students already started they mechanism part and even programming part by the time i finished my electronics part. I was shocked that my circuits are functional when the battery are plugged into my board for the first time and able to program without short circuited. My roommate who also joined the competition almost gave up when his circuits are unable to be programmed. Luckily our mentor managed to put one capacitor and made his circuits programmable again.
I started the mechanism part by buying some of the perspex, screws and wheels from outside. This took me 2 or 3 days to complete as I have to learn how to use the cutting machine to cut the perspex to the size I want and drill holes on my boards to secure them in place. Besides, I have to crimp my own wires on the housings to connect the sensor board below , controllers and the motors to connect them to my main board. I connected the sensor board to my main board and tested with my phone camera to see whether all the Infrared LED's are working. After that due to the coming Test 1, I stopped for a week and did not managed to complete my programming part.
In the end, I joined the competition on 26 October 2018 but my AUTOCAR did not move so i was disqualified. I just wanted to experience the competition by looking at others AUTOCAR. The winner managed to complete the whole game and the best AUTOCAR design award was given too. I really quite enjoyed the game although it was tiring during the process and I learned a lot from this competition. I would like to thank my mentor and friends who helped me in the process of making my AUTOCAR.

UHAS 1172 Project
Volunteer Work at @mart Kempas
8 December 2018 (Sunday)
An event was held by @mart Kempas to give out vouchers to families in need to buy stuffs from @mart , so we as students of UHAS 1172 section 34 (Dinamika Malaysia) gave help in preparing and running the event. We arranged the chairs and vouchers and set up the stage the night before the event. On the actual day, we helped in the registration counters, food distribution, PA system and photography. Me and my classmate, Lee Hai Jian was the helper for the PA systems and technical team. We helped to setup the LCD and projector for the slide video montaj to be shown to the audiences. We helped with the wiring and made sure the event runs smoothly without any technical error. We also helped other departments who needed help such as giving out calendars to each family. After the event ended, we arranged back the chairs to their original place and keep the LCD and projector and gave back to the organizers. This is my first experience working in a volunteering work!

Visit to Masjid Sultan Ismail
O
On 4 December 2018 , my class lecturer for Dinamika Malaysia (UHAS 1172), En. Hassan bin Hushin had organized a visit for my class to visit Masjid Sultan Ismail (MSI) as our topic is about Islam di Malaysia. We were given explanations from the authorities of MSI. I learned how to "wuduk" taught by the muslim students and learned the tradition of muslims how they pray. They also guide us to the Funeral room where they clean the dead bodies before the further actions. It was a remarkable experience as i never entered a masjid before and luckily I had the chance to go in to see the beauty of it. I learned a lot about Islamic culture and this had benefited all of us who attended the visit.

Gotong Royong Project UHAK 1012
Time : 25/11/2018 4pm to 6pm
Venue : Dataran FKE
On 25 November 2018, Me and my group members have invited our classmates from UHAK 1012 Section 23 to help with our gotong royong to create cleanliness awareness among the students and create a comfortable place for students to eat and study. We cleaned the leaves around the dataran and wiped the tables and seats. We were pleased to thank that the Warung had provided us some food and drinks in order to thank us for cleaning up the area. Our project is a success and we learned how to work together among students with different races and religion. We were very thankful that the students took their time and effort to come and support our project.

UHAK 1012 25/11/2018 Creative Thinking Session
On this day, my UHAK 1012 class lecturer, Mr. Mohd Nasir Bin Masroom had an small group activity session for the students in that class. We were asked to be divided into group of 6 person. The leaders were given the task and rules about the activity. The task was about to use only natural items such as leaves and branches to make animals. Our group decided to make a fish piranna and we started to make it. Unfortunately, we were disqualified as our leader forgot to mention the rule that we have to make many animals. Together we learned teamwork and made new friends. I really enjoyed this activity as this made us think outside the box to make the impossible only from limited resources.

DIABOLO PERFORMANCE 22/11/2018
VENUE : KOLEJ UNIVERSITI SELATAN
I went to watch the Diabolo Performance on a Thursday 22 November 2018 at 6:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. organized by the Diabolo Club members from Kolej Universiti Selatan. The performance was stunning with many performances such as 24 Festive Drums from the Kolej as a starting performance. There is also a drama themed about Diabolo and the performance was stunning and I learned to see many types of styles can be made with a diabolo and even multiple diabolos. The last performance was shocking as the coaching team from the Diabolo Club made the special performance. I learned a lot from this performance as a beginner and I wish to learn more styles from more diabolo training in UTM Diabolo Club.

UHAK 1012 18/11/2018 Tall Newspaper Tower Session
On the 18th November 2018, my UHAK 1012 class lecturer, Mr. Mohd Nasir Bin Masroom had an small group activity session for the students in that class. We were asked to bring newspapers and were divided into groups. Our instructions given was to make a tall tower made using newspapers and we can use other materials to stick them together such as staplers and cellophane tape. Our group decided to make the base using squares and round shapes to make it stable and using slim and long pole shape of newspaper to make it taller. The diagram above is the final product of our group. In this activity , I learned that teamwork is important and planning among group members is also vital to be successful. I really enjoyed this activity and had a lot of fun! :)

Cresendo 破茧续乐 18/11/2018
I attended an event organised by UTM Chinese Orchestra with the title “Cresendo” at Dewan Sultan Iskandar. I watched the performance with some of my coursemates and my roommate as well. It is a music convention using Chinese orchestra instruments such as Erhu, Bowed Instruments and many others that I couldn’t name them one by one.
The performance was also performed by some invited clubs such as UTM Diabolo Club, UTM 24 Festive Drums Club and UTM Flying Dance Studio. The performance had a mix mash up between the Chinese orchestra members and 24 Festive Drums members which made a shocking performance. The Flying Dance Studio also danced with the background music performed by Chinese Orchestra members. Before the music convention ends, 2 special invited guest who are Erhu specialists performed the last song together with UTM Chinese Orchestra and made a special ending.

I only knew this event the night before this treasure hunt event started. This tresure hunt event was prepared by JKM of Kolej KTC for the theme of KEBAJIKAN DAN KESELAMATAN for the week. I was invited by my coursemates to join this event to have fun and enjoy. The required number of members to join this event was 5 person so I decided to take part in it.
On the day of treasure hunt, we had a morning aerobics around 9 am. After that, we had a small warm up game before the actual event begins. The game rule is that we make 2 big circle where outer circle walk clockwise and inner circle walk counter clockwise. The game maker will shout which amount of money for the individuals in the outer circle and inner circle cost. Then, the game maker will shout the amount of money that required to form a group. For example outer circle is 50 cent and inner circle is 10 sen, we need to form a group of RM 1 in order to stay in the game.
The station games then begins after that. Our group name is called Men In Black as all of us wore black that day and we got an extra member named Kevin. Each group were given a clue consists of questions and problems that we need to find the station related to it. Our first station is Keselamatan. The game for the station is that one of us have to act out the words given which are simpulan bahasa and others will need to guess the word. It was quite hard for us especially most of our members are chinese except Kevin. Luckily we managed to get a few right.
Next, our next clue is given to find the next station which is Pejabat KTC. We were given a task to jump 5 times on a rope within 10 minutes. 2 person have to swing the rope and other 4 have to jump together. We failed a few times but we succeeded after that. Later we got the next clue which leads us to PKU station. We had to sing a song first before proceed to the game. We decided to sing 我的歌声里 wo de ge sheng li and we proceed with the game. The game is just a simple blowing of ping pong ball on top of a row of cans without dropping it in to the cup. Some cans are dented intentionally to make the game interesting. We all quickly done the 5 ping pong balls into the cup.
Furthermore, our next station at Harta Benda is about drawing. An object was given to the first person and he has to draw out within 15 sec and pass to the next person. The next person only has 5 sec to look at the drawing and continue the drawing within 15 sec. This keeps pass on until the last person guess what the drawing is. We failed this game as one of us drawn a fire extinguisher become a hair dryer. Next, the station at JKM is grabbing small objects on a bowl using chopsticks and pass to the next person until the end for 2 mins. This was quite an easy challenge as our team has most chinese who used chopsticks before. We all aim for the smallest object as it has the most marks. The last station is Bomba which we just have to sing the Bomba song and throw water balloon around without breaking the balloon. We completed the game but we continued to play until the balloon explodes on me. I was soaked wet but it was fun !
We all gathered to revealed the top 3 groups who win the treasure hunt game. We were shocked when we got the third place with point of 23.3 compared to 2nd place which was 25 points. We all had a group photo session and we all call it a day.
From these games, we learn that teamwork and determination is important. Besides, from the clues given, we know who to find when we have emergencies in our room or any situations happens. It was a memorable day to me.
Yesterday night on 29/09/2018, I walked from KTC to B11 with my friends around 7pm to join the Mid Autumn Festival by Sekretariat Pesta Tanglung UTM 工大中秋园游会. At the beginning of the event, a few mini games were played and we have the Lantern Parade. This is a event for everyone to participate. Everyone will walk together under the brightest moon, accompanied by the warm light of the lanterns, walking from B11 to L50.
Aside from the Lantern Parade, they also prepared all sorts of interesting events and exhibitions at L50 for us to enjoy! Some food were sold such as Chicken Rice and Mooncakes and they were delicious! Exclusive decorations, stunning performances and mountains of delicacies. There, they also prepared interesting games and exciting competitions to make angpao tanglung. Out of all the performance, the most interesting performance was the paper man performance which made all of the audiences laugh and shocked with the quick changes of style. In the end ,the overall festival ended with a big round of applause and it ended around 10pm. It was fun as this is the first time i celebrated Mid Autumn Festival outside of my hometown. I hope I can join this festival next year again !
