Reflection
I joined an event hosted by Kelab Bahasa Mandarin UTM which will be held to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The objective of this event is to promote the chinese culture to the other students from other races in UTM. I was in charged to brainstorm ideas to make one of the games more interesting which is the “Throwing Mandarin Citrus” game. "Throwing mandarin", as the saying goes, "throwing mandarin, marrying a good husband". On the day of the Lantern Festival, the girls would go out beautifully and "throw citruses" at the beach or river, hoping to marry a good husband. The girls would write their names or contact on the citrus. I volunteered to join as one of the helper for the event to set up the game stage for the day. Me and my other members worked together as a team to design various wallpapers and crafting design such as Instagram boards and find info’s on the Throwing Mandarin to design on the big board that will be given on that day. We come to N24 every weekend to brainstorm ideas and craft whatever we can to make the event interesting. We were given materials such as plastic swimming pool and also plastic balls to represent the citrus as it would be a waste of food if using real citrus. Graduate Attributes that I obtained from this event is Communication Skills and Teamwork as I worked together with various type of students from other faculties to finish the event. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19, Movement Control Order (MCO) was implemented by government which causing our event to be postponed until next year.
