FIKRI AKMAL AIZUDDIN BIN BAHRIM

Hi, my name is Fikri Akmal Aizuddin Bin Bahrim. I'm a 20-year-old, from Batu Pahat, Johor. I'm currently a first-year student at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor majoring in Computer Sciences and Software Engineering.

          Previously, I pursued my foundation in the science stream in Johor Matriculation College for a year and successfully completed my foundation with a 3.83 CGPA pointer. During my year in Matriculation, I actively participated in many co-curricular activities. My biggest achievement was selected as one of the bronze medal winners for the National Invention & Innovation Competition Exhibition Robot-Sumo 2020 with the project named "Autonomous 4.0 Smart Dustbin Cover". Another achievement was, I was selected as class representative for 20 students and was awarded the best chairman among science stream students.

          In high school, I successfully achieved 6As and 3Bs in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia majoring in science. In addition to that, I was also actively involved in school organizations and programs. Some of my roles and responsibility was a treasurer of school prefect, chairman for house squad, vice-president for the rugby club, and a few more co-curricular roles. All these experiences, it does shape my communication skills, being assertive, how to negotiate, learning to listen and give orders, as well as my management skills. And also I am active in sports such as football, rugby, and marathon.

          I believe that my greatest strength is the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently. I can see any given situation from multiple perspectives, which makes me uniquely qualified to complete my work even under challenging conditions.

          I always try to avoid confrontation, in both my personal and professional life. This caused me to compromise sometimes on the quality of my work or what I needed to complete a project just to keep the peace. This became a real problem when I became a team leader. One of the most critical aspects of managing people is telling them what they need to hear and not what they want to hear. I recognized this weakness and had been actively working to voice my opinions constructively and helpfully for the betterment of the team.

          My interest and passion are toward the Internet of Things (IoT) and I believed the world is rapidly evolving towards it. Thus, more expertise in software and technology engineering will be required in the future.
