Program Penghijauan Malaysia

Kempen penanaman 100 Juta Pokok

Programme Information:

This program is essentially a collaborative event with the Jabatan Perhutanan Negeri Johor (JPNJ), and it was attended by students from the Faculty of Built and Environment, as well as Dr. Hawani and various UTM safety representatives, on December 20, 2022.

Graduate Attributes:

1. Global Citizen:

The reason I proposed that I am a global citizen worthy is that the act of planting and participating in the 100 million plant campaign is a reputable act of service that should be recognized because it results in the sustainability of our ecosystem, which may lead to a better environment while also benefiting the growth of our environment. The most essential aspect of this campaign is that it promotes Malaysian environmental progress on a global scale, giving our country an ideal reputation.

2. Leadership and Teamworking skills:

As we are planting mangroves it actually and even frequently necessitates a collaborative effort. Team members must collaborate in order to arrange and carry out the planting procedure. Individuals benefit from this joint endeavor by learning how to work effectively with others, share responsibilities, and achieve a common goal. Due to its method of planting in a line and a specific distance between each plantation, we also need to enhance our teamwork skills in executing these orders. Thus, in order to do so, good leadership is indeed needed to be able to communicate at ease and follow a specific order, so the planting process will be easier and  requires a shorter amount of time.

Mini Report:

Before I offered to join the campaign, I wondered who would profit from doing so. And here I am, deeming that I am genuinely pleased to be one of the contributors to restoring greenery in our ecosystem as it deteriorates.PPlus, it is indeed rewarding to actually look at the result of our hard work in planting the mangroves, as I was imagining that if all the plants succeed in making their way to stay alive, the results in the years ahead will be absolutely remarkable. As a result, I had an economically viable experience because it was a positive act because we helped the world become more sustainable.

Self-Reflection:

In the long run, it was a rewarding experience since I was helping our planet, and I also learned how to plant mangroves on my own, which I thought was simple, but it was difficult due to the high tide, and we still managed to plant 300 plants that day. It was a pleasant event; not only did we help the environment, but we also had an unforgettable experience, and we learned about the specialty of mangroves and their effect on our ecosystem, which helps to extend the longevity of our vegetation system.
