Mini Report
An annual sporting event called SEGA (Sports & E-Games Annual) is put up by KTDI (Kolej Tun Dr Ismail). It strives to involve students in various sports and activities while fostering teamwork, good sportsmanship, and physical health among the university population. Sports and e-sports competitions are also included in SEGA, which cater to various talents and interests. The event features exhibition games, competitions, workshops, and community outreach programmes. It encourages students' social and personal growth and a sense of community and school spirit. SEGA promotes teamwork, an active lifestyle, and the acquisition of crucial skills outside of the classroom.
I participated in the SEGA Competition 2023 as a member of the food unit. My responsibility included organising and distributing meals over the entire week and obtaining a variety of drinks to sell at the event. My teammates and I put much effort into ensuring the food and beverage operations went smoothly. To support the attendees and crew members and contribute to the event's overall success, I joined the SEGA event as a member of the catering unit. With my attention to detail and organisational abilities, I could contribute significantly to maintaining a smooth food and beverage operation. This change also allowed me to develop my event planning and management skills.
Several graduate traits, including good communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability, were the emphasis of the activities in the food unit. I had to work with different teams and units as a member of the food unit to ensure efficient operations. Coordination and clear and effective communication channels were needed to provide meals to the crews and participants during the event. Additionally, research, budgeting, and consumer satisfaction concerns went into acquiring the many drinks that will be sold. Our tasks included going to different shops to purchase beverages that suited the participants' preferences. Our drink menu was thoughtfully prepared and diversified to include alternatives that would appeal to various people. After obtaining the drinks, we ensured they were properly stored, organised, and displayed to preserve their quality and freshness. I gained expertise in customer service, financial planning, and logistical management due to this experience.
As a team, we divided the work so that each person could handle particular duties, including purchasing, storing, setting up displays, and managing sales. This cooperative approach allowed for effective planning and efficient execution of the event. It also improved our capacity for cooperation and teamwork, as successful communication was essential.Participating in the 2023 SEGA event as a part of the food unit, I contributed to its success while learning more about customer satisfaction, entrepreneurship, and event management. It allowed me to acquire and use graduate-level skills, thus enhancing my overall SEGA event experience.

Self-Reflection
Participating in the 2023 SEGA event as a member of the food unit significantly impacted the development of my graduate attributes. Firstly, the activities enhanced my communication skills as I had to effectively coordinate with other units and team members to ensure smooth food and beverage operations. Clear and concise communication was essential in managing, conveying instructions, and addressing any issues.
Working in a team in the food unit also improved my ability to collaborate and work as a team. To ensure that all chores were finished successfully, we had to rely on one another's strengths and support one another. We overcame obstacles and kept a coherent and well-organized operation by working efficiently as a team. My ability to stay organised during these tasks was one of my advantages. I was excellent at organising the purchase of beverages and ensuring they were stored and displayed correctly. My ability to plan and pay close attention to detail helped ensure that everything ran well and that the customers were happy.
However, one of the difficulties I encountered was overseeing the stock and replenishing the beverage supply throughout the event. It was essential to regularly check stock levels and make sure that popular drink alternatives were always accessible due to the strong demand. To address this issue, we put in a system for monitoring sales and swiftly replenishing inventories to avoid shortages.
As a member of the food unit, I participated in the 2023 SEGA event. I practised various graduate skills, such as communication skills, leadership and teamworking skills, thinking skills and enterprising skills. My superior organisational abilities greatly enhanced the success of the activities. However, the difficulties of inventory management, strong cooperation and creative problem-solving techniques enabled us to overcome difficulties and guarantee a smooth beverage sales operation. Overall, this trip gave me great chances to advance personally and professionally.
