English Communication Skills

UHLB 1112 (ENGLISH COMMUNICATION SKILLS) is basically an English course that has innovative ways of testing our English listening, writing, reading and speaking skills.

 We learned many things from this course. It strengthens a student’s English skills as well as helps the students in getting out of their introverted life and mingle with people through different interactive group assignments where it is compulsory for everyone to contribute.

The assessments were very well planned. The web-based video project and group discussion video assessed our speaking skills. The headway online practice checked our listening, reading skills and reflective journal checked our writing skills. So, the course assessed our English skills from all 4 sides. The course assessments were all very amazing and each of them increased my English skills in some way. It made me realize that I still have a lot to learn about the language English and I know very little about the vast English Grammar. For example, while doing the headway quizzes, I learned about past participle and its uses.
