Mini Report
On 12th October 2019, an association from my course programme, Computer Graphic and Multimedia Association (CGMA) have conducted a program known as CGMA Interactive Day (CID 2019) at Dewan Sri Merbau, KTHO. It is an annual program exclusively for new first year students who have recently registered as UTM students under the course of Science Computer (Graphic and Multimedia Software). The program is packed with various kind of activities that has lot of benefits for sharpening our graduate attribute skills. It is a great experience for my friends and I as we learned many new things and skills throughout the program as a participant.
For the communication skills, we started with an ice breaking session for opening of the program. We are divided into several groups with each group have around six or seven students. This helps us getting know each other as we barely know each other. During the program, there are several activities that require us to work together as a team such as kayaking which the facilitator wants two persons to walk across our kayak to change their seat. This improves our teamwork as we need to hold each other kayak so it is stable enough for the to cross. This program also enhances our critical thinking skill. During a session, we are assigned to make a stable bridge using only straw in a short time. This require us to brainstorm for making the best stable bridge in a short period.
Self-Reflection
From this program, there`s so many things that I have learnt that will improve my soft skills. First, I learnt how to make friends and how to get socialize with other even we do not know each other, from this, I have created a new circle of my friendship .The important things that we should adapt and polish in our self is about communication skill because if we have a good communication skill our friends and strangers will comfortable with us so we can avoid misunderstanding with each other’s . In our lives we will face up so many types of people, for example during study, working and so on, because of this situation we must have good communication skill so it will easy to us interact with them, handle the awkward situation and easy to makes friends.
Second things I have learnt how to polish our thinking skill in certain situation. For example, I was able to think and make perfect choice especially in emergency situation to prevent from making a wrong choice that will lead to a bigger problem. Sometimes our life need to make a fast and immediately decisions because we don’t know the future problems that require us to handle, so we must polish our thinking skill from the beginning.
Lastly, the most beneficial things that I have learnt is about team working . The team working is the soft skill that we need if we are do a task in group. Without team working any kind of work and task cannot be done in time that has been given. Team working also must be polish in our self from the beginning because in working environment its required us to do the work in a team, so if we don’t have or lack of this skill we might get a big problem after this.
