Mini Report
This event is annually held to give early exposure to CGMA members about industry based on the senior’s internship. The members also exchange ideas about current technology while completing tasks in assigned group.
The first graduate attribute that being focused is communication skills. Work in a group require me to use my communication skills to ensure I can deliver my point correctly and my groupmates manage to understand what I intended to say. In addition, we managed to propose ideas related to the topic and present them. With thinking skills, choose a topic and analyze the problem faced to look for the solutions.
The event started first with recitation prayer and internship talk by selected 4th year students. They shared their experience while become an intern including giving some advices and answering QnA. The activity continued with breakout session with assigned group. During that time, we are required to propose ideas about any invention or innovation related to 5th Industrial Revolution and create a poster. My group decided to proceed with Google Glass improvement as our idea. After lunch break, the event continued with presentation from all group about their ideas. While waiting for the result to be announced, we had a QnA session with 4th year students with name and questions being picked randomly. The event came to the end after the winner announcement.
Self-Reflection
Joining this event has event has widen my knowledge about the industry based on the senior’s experience. Although I still have time before experience it myself, I gain a lot of ideas about the opportunity to continue with what I love. It also opened my view about what the industry looks like and I also get some advices from the seniors. Additionally, I gain new knowledge about current technology from group discussion. Here, we identify a problem from technology and brainstorm the ideas to solve the problem. From this, I am aware that I should work harder to keep up to date with technology around me. I also get to enhance my communication skills from this program. Since most of the group members are from different year with me, I am not familiar with them. However, I encourage myself to give idea and cooperate with them to complete the task given.
