Speed Typing Competition is a competition that promotes the competitiveness among Science Computer students to enhance and develop their typing speed using laptop or PC. All contestants were challenged by each other as there was a live score at the right of their screen during the competition. Every second passed, new word per minute (wpm) record created. Infinite amount of trial along the 3 hours shows the spirit of the students' never give up attitude to achieve their goal. What I noticed there were 2 rivals that consistently beat each other in every try they did. Even they are on another level, most of them competed until the end of the time because we offered the prize for the Top 10 contestants with highest wpm. While having fun, they actually improved their typing speed and this can be a valuable skills to be use in coding so that they can finish their work faster.
As a treasurer of the program, I received a task to distribute the money among 10 winners and file a financial reports. This is my first time handling this kind of duty and I really learnt a lot from it. First was the administrative work ethics since I required to follow the format to make the financial report. Every money transaction to the winner need to attach in the report as a prove for the cash flow. Being a treasurer is about trust and honesty in managing the money given. The formal way of communicating should be applied during the communication between the winners to keep my professionalism. Even I was awkward at first because I am an introvert, I recognize that I am getting better after did it many time to another winners. I did not face many problems in this programm because the committee is primarily made up of my classmates who are always willing to support me when I need it.
