Data Engineering Symposium 2021

Data Engineering Symposium: "Career Track in Data Engineering" program helped enlighten the questions and misunderstanding among students during their journey to become a data engineer. Ms. Qistina Batrisyia shared a lot of her experience during her study in UTM until she become a data engineer in TMONE. The focus of her speech during the webinar was about internship. This is a hot topic for SECP students who are in 2U2I programme. The audience can imagine on what we should ready physically and mentally during our study as early as Year 1. We are given the a glimpse on the working environment in a company like TMONE even during the internship. Suprisingly, the speaker got the job offer as a Data Analyst before she end her internship at there because of her work quality.

As far as I remember, this is the first event ever that I experienced to be a program director. I really have zero experience in leading a program. Luckily I have a good support system from PERSAKA itself. They provided the blueprint of managing a program and my friend, Nur Irdeena helped me a lot when I have any confusion before the program proposal is sent to HEP. From this event, I noticed a bit improvement on my Communication and Leadership attributes as I need to lead a team consists of 10 people. The situation I faced really push me to get out from my comfort zone to be more brave and mature to make decisions. One of the challenges is waiting for the speaker's confirmation to agree with this program. We contacted as many as possible speakers for the event but none of them are available on that date and time. For some reasons, the other unit such as Multimedia unit to hold the poster design and publicity. In time, we are approaching the due and fortunately the speaker, Ms. Qistina confirmed it at the right time. Although it was a tiring work, I am happy to deliver this symposium because it is related to me and I can contribute as much as I could to my friend with the same course.
