Report Activity No. 1

As the program secretary, I am very grateful and blessed to have been given this opportunity to help organize the event. I have always wanted to gain more event-organizing experience during my university life as this will benefit a lot in my future career. My main job for this event as the secretary was to write invitation letters, program report and program bulletin.

Although I was not in charge of the live session, I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience from this event. The first skill that I have learned is communication skills. To ensure that the symposium runs smoothly during the event day, the committee team held meetings before the event to discuss on our job scopes, potential problems, and suggestions to improve the event.

From this event, I have also gained leadership and teamworking skills. Teamworking skills are important during an event as every committee member needs to work together and build trust so that we can organize a successful event without any setbacks and quarrels.

          Adaptability is another attribute that I have gained from the symposium. Adaptability means willing to try out different roles and teams, which is very crucial in events as we need to be flexible and keep an open mind to any tasks given to us. I have been given the role of secretary for this symposium, but I might be assigned another role for my next event, hence I need to show that I am competent for any job and role.

          In conclusion, I am very happy that I got to help organize an event, it is also a plus that the symposium went well. I am looking forward to my next event as I plan to gain more experience during my university years before graduation.
