Global citizen
Honesty during the test or quiz are important as a student. Due to the pandemic, most of the lesson, tests and quiz are carried out online and students tend to cheat during the test. As a responsible student, I answered the quiz honestly and did not cheat during the quiz.
This quiz were opened to student not only from USMKK but also for USM, UMT, UPM, UTM and other universities including the private universities. There were 5 themes provided during the quiz such as Chinese New Year, Qingming Festival, Mid-autumn Festival, Winter Solstice Festival and lastly was the Dragon Boat Festival. The day before the quiz started, the organizer provided an informative video regarding all the 5 themes for the participants to watch.
On the first day (10 May 2021), the theme for the quiz was Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year also known as Lunar New Year. It is a festivity that last until the full moon. The next day, the themes for the quiz were Qingming Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. Qingming festival also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day while the Mid-Autumn Festival also known as Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival. Lastly, the themes for the last day of quiz are Winter Solstice Festival and Dragon Boat Festival. Winter Solstice Festival also known as Ashiemal Solstice or Hibernal Solstice. After all the quiz finished, there were an additional match for the top 25 ranking.
There were a lot of knowledge that I gained after joining this quiz. Most of the questions provided are related to the taboos, foods, activities and so on during certain festival and I got most of them wrongly as I did not understand well about the culture although I am a Chinese. Hence, after I knew what I answered incorrectly, I would try to adapt them during the festival and make the celebration more exciting and interesting. The questions were tricky as most of the answers almost the same. It could be seen that the standard of the questions are high and most of the participants had to think and select the answer quickly and carefully. The time limit for each question were about 10 and 20 seconds and this was challenging for me to think fast. Besides, as a student, I have the responsibility to answer the quiz honestly. I know that cheating include searching online during the examination is an incorrect way.
