Reflection
- Impact of the activities on the development of the students Graduate Attributes
In participating the webinar Strategizing Your Financial Future; Securing the Bag!, I have gained more tips and insight regarding financial literacy as a student. Therefore, this event had several impacts on my own Graduate Attributes.
First, this event had impacted my Enterprising Skills. Before attending this event, I had little knowledge regarding investing, but after attending this event I had learned interesting and various ways one can invest such as using robot advisors or cryptocurrency. Not only that, I had also gained some tips on how to take calculated risks when investing and how to generally act in market situations.
The second Graduate Attribute that this event focused on for me was that after the speakers all talked about various sources to refer for self-studying, it spurred my motivation to further study regarding investing in my own time.
- Self-strength/advantage towards the activities
In my opinion, a strength that I have in this event is that I am greatly curious and inquisitive when learning about topics that I am new or not familiar with. This is paired with my relentlessness and diligence to self-study especially regarding new topics.
- Challenges and how to overcome them
One of the challenges that I faced in this event was experienced after this event was taking the first step in actually investing my own money after learning about robot advisors in this event. This is due to me being somewhat discouraged by taking risks with something important to me as a student which is my own money. The only way to overcome this would take the leap of faith and go for it, after the preparations and the calculations.
