ESCAPE AIESEC!

ESCAPE AIESEC! is an initiative to increase the engagement and connection of the membership after a long term of virtual events and commitments. So, ESCAPE AIESEC! is the first physical event in AIESEC in Johor Bahru, which also aimed to shape the culture of membership through this initiative. In the event, we have roll call, which is one of the AIESEC culture as well, as dance is the ‘language’ that can be understand by everyone regardless of their nationality, mother tongue and religion. As there were newly recruited membership, we also having sessions to introduce about AIESEC, each department in our organization and also the about the topic of sustainability of the organization. The graduate attributes that are focused on in this event is communication skills and thinking skills because all committee aligned constantly with each other to prepare this event to ensure we can provide the best experience to the membership.

My key learning in ESCAPE AIESEC! is communication and collaboration with another team to ensure the successful of the event. I also developed my thinking skills when figuring out about the agenda of the event on how to make it meaningful and fun at the same time. It also required my coordination skills on transportation and food arrangement other than the event agenda. Next, as the current president of AIESEC in Johor Bahru delivered a space regarding the how to maintain the sustainability of the organization, I also learned about how our financial status and the operation can affect the future of an organization. Throughout the preparation and event, I faced challenges when I was doing alignment and coordination because of uncertain factors such as the registration number. Eventually it is solved by constant communication and coordination. Lastly, I also found my strength on the creativity on planning an event.
