MINI REPORT
The Majlis Pengenalan Kelab Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail 2022 (MAPEK'22) was organized for the first-year students of Tun Dr. Ismail College (KTDI) at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The event aimed to introduce students to the various clubs available at KTDI and UTM, promote student involvement, and provide opportunities for personal growth.
During MAPEK'22, numerous clubs were showcased, offering students diverse experiences and opportunities. There are many clubs that offer new and different experiences for students, such as Gamelan Club, PALAPES, and many more. We aimed to encourage students to become more active and courageous in learning new things and expose them to the types of clubs in KTDI and UTM.
As a part of the logistic unit for MAPEK'22, I played a vital role in the successful execution of the event. Our efforts in ensuring an adequate supply of necessities throughout the programme, managing and providing chairs and tables, and others contributed to the smooth running of the event and a good experience for the attendees. The experience that the attendees have is crucial, as it will be their first impression of KTDI's activities.
In conclusion, MAPEK 2022 was a successful endeavour in promoting Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail and recognizing and exploring many clubs in KTDI and UTM. The programme ended with joy, and students were provided with food catering services. I hope that all students will be active in co-curricular activities, developing a distinct identity and effective time management.
SELF REFLECTION
Being part of the Logistic Unit for MAPEK'22, my role involved ensuring a smooth event by managing supplies, arranging chairs and tables, and being prepared for emergencies. Through this experience, I reflected on how my role aligned with important graduate attributes.
Firstly, teamwork played a vital role as we collaborated closely with other team members. By actively participating in team discussions and sharing ideas, we ensured effective communication and coordination.
Secondly, organization and planning were crucial skills in managing the event's logistics. By maintaining clear records and checklists, I successfully tracked and managed the availability and usage of resources, enhancing my ability to prioritize tasks and maintain an organized system.
Thirdly, problem-solving skills were essential as I anticipated and addressed unexpected challenges. Through quick thinking and adaptability, I successfully resolved issues and contributed to the seamless execution of the event.
In conclusion, my involvement in the Logistic Unit for MAPEK'22 allowed me to apply and enhance important graduate attributes such as teamwork, organization and planning, and problem-solving. This experience has equipped me with practical skills and knowledge that will benefit my future endeavors. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the success of MAPEK'22 and for the personal growth it has facilitated.
