Mini Report

This program is organized by Losting Music Club UTM, which is a music club that was listed as one of the culture clubs under Unit Kebudayaan. This club was not just a performance-based club, it also provided classes such as song composing class, music class and singing class for students who were likely to learn more about music as well as on how to compose a song. The purpose of this program is to help students who are interested in music to learn more knowledge about how to compose a music. There are actually 3 separate classes for this program.

This program has contributed to the development of my communication skills as we need to actively share our ideas and thoughts during the class. This program also requires us to use our thinking skills as each of us need to compose a chord progression to present in front of other people. We need to build the chord progression based on our own creativity. Adaptability is also highly emphasized in this program as we need to remain flexible and open-minded when learning about music.

Self-Reflection

This is my first time joining a program that is related to music. From this program, I have not only learnt knowledge about music theory, but also, I have improved my graduate attributes skills such as communication skills. Through effective communication skills, I was able to express my idea or asking questions directly. My thinking skill is also improved especially when each of us are assigned to build our own chord progression based on our own creativity. Lastly, the class also encouraged adaptability, as everyone has different music tastes, different idea or approach on music. Therefore, we need to be open-minded, learn and accept different types of music there.

The challenges that I have faced during the composing classes is that I don't have any musical background, and my knowledge on music theories are very limited, also in the beginning of the class, I was able to get whatever their trying to teach, but halfway through the class, I have lost my track. So, in order for me to overcome this, I have to do revision on what they have taught us during the class.
