Report:
The event was organized by Persatuan Sains Komputer UTM (PERSAKA), and the event was exclusively for students from the School of Computing. SUSKOM was held for 7 consecutive days, which starts from the 1st of March till the 7th of March. But the Netball tournament was held on the 6th of March. The tournament started in the morning and ended in the evening. The purpose of this event is to focus on our daily workouts and exercises because after a week we are working at office and studying for almost 8-10 hours, this is time for us to release our stress and tension. The graduate attributes that I obtained from joining this event is communication skills and leadership and team-working skills. I gained a lot of new friends from different age ranges. It amazed me to think how we never really recognized each other despite being from the same school.
Self-reflection:
I have always loved netball. Being able to continue playing after my Diploma days is such a relief. I was a bit scared as I did not know most of the people on the team. We built the team only communicating using ‘Whatsapp’, so we never really saw each other in real life. I was glad as I had 2 of my former team-mates playing on the same team as I was. I also encountered a team that had my senior team-mate back in UTMKL. Our team consisted of 9 players and I was either the ‘GD’ or the ‘WD’ of the team as my strength was defending. We trained for 2 weeks before the tournament. It was a fun tournament. Our team won 3rd place but I was not able to collect the medal we won. Up till today, the medal is still with one of my team-mates. I was beyond glad that I decided to join the tournament. We planned to enter a new tournament together but before we could, MCO was issued. I hope we could still join other tournaments and win again.
