PROBABILITY & STATISTICAL DATA ANALYSIS | PROJECT 2 REFLECTION

1 RWR4s5t5h_ve0D4fy5-Z9w.jpeg

This a reflection for PSDA course (PROBABILITY & STATISTICAL DATA ANALYSIS) Project2.

The difference between this project 2 and the previous project 1 is that we have collected the data on our own for the first project, but now I'm using secondary data and some tests and analysis will be used as well.

For the Dataset, I have picked (World happiness score 2019) from keggle.com, I'm interested to study more about the world happiness to know what are the things the influence the happiness of the countries and the relationships between the factors. I have also get a bit deeply and divided the world into three contents, also the European countries into Eu members and non Eu members to do more accurate tests

After doing the tests and analysis, I could come with a conclusion that the Global Happiness Index does not depend on one thing but on several things combined, but the most influential was the income of the individuals (GDP per capita).

I loved dealing with the datasets.. I predict something then I find out that I was totally wrong, which is the most interesting thing.

This project helped me a lot to deal with data, so all datasets are useless if you don't know what to do or how to deal with it, so after doing this project I got to know so many things - especially R language- and how to come with a conclusion from any data I have.

Hopefully, I will deal with other datasets as well and I will publish my reports here.

Also, here are some graphs for the realtionships between some factors:

(PROBABILITY & STATISTICAL DATA ANALYSIS) Project1- Online Vs Traditional learning

AdobeStock_86404911-680x470-1.jpeg

This a reflection for PSDA course (PROBABILITY & STATISTICAL DATA ANALYSIS) Project1.

We were asked as a group of 4 students to use primary data (survey, interview, observation, experiment) to collect data and gain information and insights to make a case study.

We have chosen (Online Vs Traditional learning) as the name of our topic since the current situation COVID-19 has changed the learning method completely and we saw that it's important to know more about student's overview about online learning.

We used a survey using google forum, it can be accessed through the following link:

Online Vs Traditional learning

We haven't faced many problems doing this survey, except that firstly we could only get 60 responses, but then I came up with an idea to make a prize draw and that worked very well as the number of responses doubled to 128 in almost 2 days!

Despite the information I've collected from this survey, I have gained so many skills about how to conduct a survey and make a case study about it and how to read between the lines and divide the population into samples to get a specific information. So for any upcoming similar project or survey I can do that completely on my own without any difficulties, which will definitely help me in my future to do any kind of researche or study.

To be honest, I thougt I would not get any benfites from this course since I already took it in the Foundation semester, but I realized that this course is totally different and it foucses more on the profession side.

We have done many reports and visits that will help us in our future, such as Design thinking process which allow you test and get reflections about any product before releasing it to customers.

We have also visited CICT and we got a lot of information about their job and how they contorl and manage a huge sum of information since they are responsible about the tecnnology part in UTM.

Lastley, we visitd MaGICX (Media and Game Innovation Centre of Excellence), we got an idea about how our future might be. The center consists of many software, graphics and network engineers most of them were students in UTM, we learned how to start making application and what does it cost you to lunch an App.

TIS course also improved my skills and learned me how to write a posters, academic reports and many other things.

Our lectures was Dr. Aryati binit Bakri, she is good, very experiences and she tried to invlove us in many activites related to our cousre.

One of the most diffecult cousres in Computer Science, but it's also very important.

Many students do not understand the concept of this course, but it's all about thinking out of the box, solving problems and desining algorithms, which is the most important basics for any computer science student.

The course was great for me and I enjoyed it a lot, but when it comes to the tests, it's the worst :)

However, unlike other Math courses, descrete Math has many ways to solve a problem and you don't need to follow any specific way or eqution as long as you know what to do, so it's more like solving puzzles.

If (you want to communicate with the computer);

cout << "You need to understand its language" << endl;

This is what PT about, it learns you how to communicate with a computer that does not know or understand your language.

I have faced many difficulties at the beginning of this course which is only involved with C++, but after some weeks I got the concept it became much easier to me.

Programming is our major course and without it we will never be a software engineers.

I really enjoy coding and I’m trying to move forward into this part.

1+1 = 10

This is the digital logic, no logic at all.

The course is involved with many important things for any computer science student, it explains how the computers receive and process the data a how circuits and hardware communicate within a computer that only understand 0 and 1.

In other words, it explains to you what is happining behind the scene and what's going on inside the computer unit.

I have gained a huge amount of information from this course and it’s also helped to think and solve problems in different ways.

Malaysian Language for communication RSS

Malaysian Language for communication

selamat Pagi,

This is one of the important courses, not in our faculty but in our life in Malaysia.

Even though we speak in English most of the time and almost all the Malayisian are able to speak in English, but we still need to learn bahasa melayu. How can you imagine yourself after living in a country for almost 5 years and not able to speak their language.

Also, you may communicate with Malaysian in English but when you hear them speaking in Malay beside you  and you know nothing, you will be so curious to know what are they talking about.

So, Malaysian Language course is here to rescue us.

Malayisan Studies

When you live in a country for 4 or 5 years you really need to know about its history, laws, traditions, and more about its people. This is what Malayisan Studies course about.

Beside that, we had the chance to try the malaysain foods and attires,  every week we were required to try a new malayisan dish! like it or not! you must also prove that you ate that dish.

So, we tried roti canai, nasi ambang and rojak petis, I liked them all but not rojak petis at all.

We also tried many malaysian attires, for me I was asked to wear Kurta.

From my opinion, it's good course and without it I would never have a chance to try the malayisan foods or attires or get to know all that malsyain traditions and history.

This course was kind of funny course, it was all about games, activities and competitions presented by groups.

The given subject to us was “Global citizens”. I interacted with my group by making a video about poverty, introducing charity App “Share the meal” and handprints activity.

Our final project was about Orang Asli kids to convince them to continue their studies, I also helped by making a video about RC Cars.

In general, it was good course and I gained so many information by an enjoyable way.
