Traditional dance is a cultural activity, that is something that I will look into. I really interested when it come to traditional dancing. The choreography is just too harmony and comfortable. Seeing a traditional dance reminds me of my childhood and some good memories. This activity also have theatre which I really like also. That is the reason why I join this activity.
This activity focus on global citizen attributes, it is a cultural activity where we can see a traditional dance perform by UTM students. They also collaborate with UTP students and do some theatre. Global citizen attributes is to respect and value the diversity that exists in this world. This activity also let me adapt with some new people since not everyone like traditional dancing and theatre. Most of them who like this kind of activity is a little bit soft. I do not have problem with that, just that most of my friends are not into traditional dancing and theatre. I feel really happy when seeing a dance like this.
This activity start at 8.30 at Dewan Sri Menanti, KRP and had 2 theatres which are "Si Tanggang" from UTM and "Di Bawah Telapak Kakimu" from UTP. This theater alternate with traditional dance that is performed by Citra Daksina.
Self-reflection
Impact of this activity to global citizen is very strong, The traditional dance and theatre that was performed by collaboration of 2 universities which are UTM and UTP is really good. It tell us to respect the diversity that exist in this world. The traditional culture that is forgotten from time to time is defended by this kind of people. In order to adapt in this modern world, people began to forget about traditional culture which really make me sad. They also perform "Si Tanggang" theatre which is a moral story about ungrateful child to his mother. Then the mother curse her son by praying to god, her mother said "please turn my son into a stone". When the son started to turn into stone slowly, only then the son began to apologize to his mother, but then it was too late for forgiveness.
The challenges in this activity is to understand the meaning and the moral of the story, if I cannot get the moral of the story, then this activity is just for fun. Luckily I got the meaning of this story and I really do appreciate the hard work by both UTM and UTP.
