Study about compressor from reading material given by Mr Fadhil . Compressor is a machine raising air pressure above 0.9 kg/cm^2. There are two types of compressor; first is positive displacement and second is dynamic compressor. Example of positive displacement is reciprocating, screw, sliding vane, lobe and liquid ring. Besides, example of dynamic compressor are centrifugal and axial.Positive displacement compressor working as it entrap a volume of gas in a confined space and then the volume of this space is reduced leading to reduction of the volume gas. impact of volume gas reduction cause raises the pressure of gas. After the pressure increase, gas is pushed out of the confined space.
There are some criteria to choose compressor:
- capacity
- pressure ratio
- power supply characteristic
- size and weight of compressor
- type of foundation required
- type of control
- maintenance cost
- availability and cost cooling water
However, prime factor choose either positive displacement and dynamic compressor are capacity and pressure ratio
2. At the evening, search about belt and pulley specification to study either the belt and pulley is mesh correctly. However, RGTEC is a new process in the plant, thus the data specification is not yet available. From data gathering, RGTEC used synchronize belt and there are two type different manufacturer used that are GATES and BANDO. Belt specification also not available and I need contact with manufacturer to get belt specification.
