Mini Report:

The theme of this webinar is named as Zero Waste Experience, and AIESEC Johor Bahru organizes it. There are two honourable speakers invited to discuss on zero waste lifestyle. After joining this webinar, it clear up the myths on zero waste which are it is costly, consume a lot of time, and have to carry everything with you all the time. This webinar is aimed to spark public awareness of zero waste. Zero waste is a lifestyle which needs to start from small steps and practices 3R and 4R. The first thing is to refuse any unnecessary items, it definitely helps to reduce waste.

The graduate attribute focused on this webinar is Global Citizen. It made me able to understand the environmental impact of certain practices. The webinar also focused on 13th Sustainable Development Goal, Climate Action. It mentioned it is an individual commitment to practice zero waste. By practising zero waste lifestyle, it will help to combat climate change and create a great impact on humans. It will make people tend to eat healthier, plans well when buying and also learning culture of the fast trend. The small changes over time make a huge impact on the Earth.

Self-Reflection:

After joining this webinar, I understand the benefits of the zero-waste lifestyle. It made me realize my own responsibility to start to practising the zero waste lifestyle and keep update with the world issue like climate change. It has inspired me to practice the zero waste lifestyle to make the world become better. I am persistent to do whatever I have decided to do, it will make my path on zero waste easier and keep on going with it.

There are many challenges that I may face during the way of practising zero waste lifestyle such as laziness and environment. I need to change my mindset to overcome the laziness, by starting on small things like take my own bag for shopping and refuse to use the plastic bags. I need to trust whatever I am trying to attempt the zero waste lifestyle and also encourage others to practice as well.

Mini Report:

As a student learning Supply Chain Management (SCM) course, procurement is an essential component to create an effective SCM. This sharing session, How to Achieve a Successful Career in Procurement, invited the industry expert, Mr Chang Han Hua who has more than 22 years experience in procurement. I join this event as a multimedia committee member, I help to create and design the poster for the publicity department. To run an event successfully,  there are some crucial skills need to equip, communication, leadership and team working. The sharing session focused on explaining the definition of procurement, important roles of procurement in an organization, characteristics of well-purchasing personnel, routine activities of the procurement department and also the real industry experience faced by Mr Chang. The personality of well-purchasing personnel should be a team player, excellent communication skills, confident, humble, detailed persons and others. Procurement also helps to establish a good relationship with the suppliers who represent their own organizations. 

Self-Reflection:

Thru this sharing session, it has enhanced my learning regarding procurement for SCM course and let me explore the importance of the procurement of each organization. My high passion for design made me really enjoy participating in this event.  After joining this event, it made me realize the importance of communication, leadership and team working skills. I need to communicate well with the others include lecturer who acts as an advisor to guide me to create the poster which is attractive and fit the standard set by faculty. With good communication, I can create the proper poster in a short time by reducing the chance of misunderstanding. Organizing an event, there is a leader need to do this kind of job, dividing the tasks for each committee member to facilitate the process on the preparation of the event. The challenge I faced is misunderstanding occurs due to online distance learning.  Fortunately, with the sophisticated communication platforms such as WhatsApp, it will help to overcome this challenge.

Mini Report:

Celcom Siswapreneur @ Google Bootcamp 2020 Program is a free online digital marketing training program. It aims to increase graduate employability and enhance entrepreneurship skills by equipping students with digital marketing skills. The program also intends to nurturing Malaysia’s digital ecosystems and promoting digital entrepreneurs.

Celcom is partnered with Google to hold this program. This program is organized for students and staff of the colleges and universities in Malaysia in order to enhance the engagement. Due to the huge participants, the organizer has decided to hold four days and divided the universities and colleges into four teams for undergoing the training session easier. Universiti Teknologi Malaysia belongs to team four which is the day four, 22 October 2020. This program is held online via Google Classroom and YouTube Live.  

Celcom used YouTube to live streaming the training sessions on using Google software. In Google Classroom, there are some assignments for us to practice the skills what we have learnt. After doing these assignments, the participants can gain a certificate. There are five modules and sessions have been prepared for us to learn to enhance the ICT skills by using Google software such as Google Doc, Slides, Sheets, Sites and My Business. There are exclusive Google merchandises prepared for participants to grab if winning the interactive quizzes regarding Google software.

Self-Reflection:

After joining this program, I learnt many ICT skills that I have no explore before. I am passionate and interested to learn much additional knowledge and skills. With knowledge of using Google software, I am capable to do some works more effectively. I am able to create a resume via Google Doc in a short time with nice and attractive templates. It is an essential skill especially for the graduates to do preparation for an interview before being employed. I also learnt how to create a marketing brochure via Google Slides. It will use if I work in the Marketing Department or I start my own business as an entrepreneur to attract customers to make the purchase and increase the sales directly. It made me more immense in learning these designing skills by using any other software.

Google Sheet is a software quite similar to Microsoft Excel. I have learnt on creating budgeting sheets on it. Budgeting sheet is very useful for starting a business and organizing events to have a clear picture of the number of financial resources need to prepared to run and sustain the business and events. Creating a business profile via Google My Business, I learnt to add in the business hours, name and other relating information. It will help to increase the exposure of the business on the search engine, Google.

With learning to use the software, it will increase the employability and adaptability since I know more than the others and I am ready and adapt to work in a real working environment without receiving any training from the future organizations. It also increases the entrepreneurship skills after joining the training sessions except for the Google Doc. The remaining sessions are important for entrepreneurs to equip with. Learning to create a website via Google Site, it is definitely helpful for digital entrepreneur which young people would love to enrol. It is also the trend of doing business online since the Covid-19 pandemic is a huge challenge for traditional business.   There is no challenge that I have to overcome when joining this program.
