Reflection

As a first year student of data engineering, I slowly explore my interest in computer science throughout the first semester of learning in UTM. My dream is to become a professional in the field of information technology (IT) and also be a skilled programmer. As the technologies are being developed in a rapid way, being skillful in a particular major is yet insufficient for us to compete in such competitive market in this 21st century. Hence, soft skills such as leadership skill, communication skill, and the ability to collaborate with others play important role in improving our competitiveness in this intense competition.  As a undergraduate student, I have to put in effort to improve all my soft skills, get involved in various kind of activities to meet new people and learn to collaborate with individuals of distinct backgrounds. As such, I will be able to boost my communication skills and leadership skills beside focusing on polishing my professional skills.
