Activity 03 - Resak Islamic Day 2020 (ReID'20)

Justification in joining the activity:

I joined this event as a crew to gain more knowledge on how to handle a program. I never join any event as a crew before this in UTM and I want to take this opportunity to become one of ReID'20 crew. At this moment, I was a first year student and I think I am able to handle this program. Moreover, I want to secure my room in KTDI since KTDI is the nearest college to my faculty and this program is organize by JKM KTDI.

The Graduate Attributes that are focused on:

• Communication Skills: I was assigned as a leader for unit 3K. I was surprise at that time because I thought that a first year student will not be appointed as a leader. From that day, I learned how to improve my communication skills to interact with my team. Although my subordinates are second year student, I have to learned to give order and make sure that our team can work well.
• Leadership and Teamworking Skills: Since I was appointed to become a leader for unit 3K, I have to foucused on every order that are given to me. This is my first time being a leader, thus I must take this opportunity to challenge myself. I also have to manage my time and set a meeting with my subordinate to complete the task given. Teamwork is important during this activity because this program is quite big to handle and we must cooperate well to make sure the program is going smoothly.
• Adaptability: In real life, I was an introvert person who rarely to join this kind of event. After I decided to be a crew of ReID'20, I must adapt with the environment and keep calm while doing the task. Being a leader is not easy because I am a type who are not easily lead people. This program really thought me on how to adapt with people around me especially during carry out this event.

Content of the activity:

Resak Islamic Day 202 or ReID'20 is a three day event where the program consists of islamic content such as islamic talk, reciting Quran competition, acoustic and there is also various food stall. This event was held at Dewan Resak and its area. Muslim and non-muslim are encouraged to join this program. 

This is my first event for me to join as a crew. I was so excited to join this program, but at the same time I feel worried for not be able to give commitment. However, I took this challenge to handle a program and gain more knowledge to get that experience. To become a crew, all the candidates must go through an interview and I was chosen to be one of a member of Reid'20. 

Surprisingly, I was appointed as a leader for unit 3K, which at that moment I was just a first year student. I have to give order to my subordinate which are second year students. As an introvert person, being a leader is not easy especially to a person who is older than me. However, we can cooperate well since my subordinate helping me a lot while doing task. 

However, we only run this program in one night out of three days due to Covid 19. We have to stop this event to avoid more people keep gathering and infected by this virus. At that night, we feel so dissappointed for not be able to finish up this program. But, all the experience as a crew before the program started is very meaningful and hope that I can apply this experience in other event.
