Justification in joining the activity:
SUSKOM’20 is an activity that was held within the School of Computing every year, which is focused on sports. In this programme, I am taking part on explorer game which consists of five members. Explorer is one of the good sport in term of where we have to cooperate with our team to get highest mark. Besides that, it is also good for our health since explorer need more movement and running to go to other places to complete the task given. From this activity, our team can create more bonding and we also learn how to cooperate well with team member especially during assignment group.
The Graduate Attributes that are focused on:
- Communication Skills: Communication skills are very important in order to win the competition because we are joining this activity as a group. If we have problem with communication, definitely we will get difficulty during the activity.
- Thinking Skills: Thinking skills was focused on because most of the task need us to think to solve the problem especially during sudoku game. Indirectly, this activity make us to think carefully and calmly to finish the task early.
- Leadership and Teamworking Skills: Leadership and Teamworking Skills are important in this activity. We have to help each other and encourage our team to continue our task. When running to next checkpoint, we should wait for other member who might get tired. During sudoku game, there is one member who is trying her best to solve the game while we are almost give up on the game. So, we gave her support to complete the task.
- Global Citizen: Global citizen was also involved in this activity. After we complete the task on particular checkpoint, we thanked to the crew who helped us to complete it. They might be tired to handle the program and try to give their best service, thus by thanking them, we appreciate all their effort for us.
Content of the activity:
The activity SUSKOM’20 consisted of many different sporting events such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, futsal, and so on. The activity that I join is explorer game. To join this activity, we need to have at least five members. During the activity, there are some checkpoint where we have to identify where the place of the checkpoint. After we arrive at that place, we have to complete the task given. Then, we have to move to the next checkpoint and collect our mark to get highest achievement.
Self reflection
I was eager to join this event because I love to do explorer. Moreover, I am not too good in other sport. I also participate in Fun Run since I love to run and take this chance to join it. During this activity, I learn how to communicate well with team member, improve our thinking skills to solve the problem and help each other in order to win the competition. We try our best to get the highest mark and not easily give up during do the task. Because of our hardwork, good teamwork and do our best for the game, we finally win the competition on second place.
In short, I was really glad to have taken part in this activity because it has taught me many valuable lessons and has contributed to my growth and development into a better student.
