REFLECTION FESTIVAL CRITICAL AND CREATIVE THINKING 2018 (2CT’18)

            Praise to be God because everything going as we planned and smoothly. I am personally enjoyed this festival very much. This festival was held on 25 April 2018 at Convention Hall, Faculty of Management, UTM. We are divided into small group and every of us have different task. I have decided to join craft group whereas we have to facilitate and demonstrate any craft from recycle material to primary students from Pontian, Johor. So, our first task is to decide which craft that really suit to our participant and make sure this activity can enhance their critical and creative thinking. After a few meeting, we got an idea to do frame based on recycle materials such as paper box, newspaper, magazines, and etc. We divide task where one person have to find newspapers, one person have to find magazines, and others prepared for this activity. The challenges that we face before the event is to get as much recycle materials from the shop. We have been informed that we did not get any financial allocation from organizer. So, we have to find an alternative way to get sources with zero capital. Then, I got an idea to asked lecturer about recycle materials and Alhamdulillah we successfully collect as much recycle materials. Besides that, I think another challenge is time constraint. If there is a meeting, sure one or two members will not attend with the excuses but we understand their situation and surprisingly during the event everyone gives full cooperation from starting until the end. I am really happy being in this group. I have got positive feedback from primary students that they really enjoyed with the craft and they want to show their craft to their parents when they back home. For me, this activity can help student to think out of the box because we just provide them a piece of paper box and we asked them to do frame. Then, they have to use their creativity in making beautiful frame. They make the frame special for their teachers and I find one of student make a frame to their parents. One more thing that I didn’t expect is one of student write some positive quote on the frame. So, she looks different from others. The way she thinks. Overall, our activity achieves our objective where we want to encourage them to think creatively and critically while we want to give awareness about recycle materials. I am also learned may things from the festival and I think the most valuable for me is experience. Experience in joining this festival, handling primary students, and coping with issues rationally. I hope this kind of program should be continued in the future.
