The journey of getting the AWS badge (how do you get the badge? the learning path from know nothing about AWS until you get the AWS badge, the process of learning, exploration and understanding, when do you start, how do you complete the 10 modules,
At first I had no knowledge of cloud computing, especially AWS companies that provide cloud computing services. I first learned about AWS cloud computing during industrial talk 3 organized by the university and from there I started learning about cloud computing myself. At first I did not understand much about cloud computing but after completing 10 modules provided by AWS on cloud computing can help me to study and understand it more deeply. During the learning process, I found that I really enjoyed this learning process because I not only learned about facts and concepts but also hands-on lab. By setting up the lab can help me better understand how cloud computing works. Not only that, the learning videos provided were very helpful to me as the explanations given by the very young instructors were understandable. The division of videos by title also helps to be more focused and understand each of what is presented by the instructor and it also makes me not get bored quickly because as we know videos that have a long duration can cause the audience to lose focus and quickly get bored. The division of this video also helped me to organize the contents of subtopics cognitively. It took me less than a week to complete these 10 modules. At first I started out slower than others however after I watched the video of module 1, I became excited to complete all the modules provided. After completing the first lab in module 4, I found it to be more interesting to study and it made me more excited to complete the entire module.

After completing this course, I’ve gained a badge and a certificate from Amazon Web Services Training and Certification on the AWS Academy Graduate-AWS Academy Cloud Foundations. For me, I gained knowledge which is very valuable and can help me in the industry needed nowadays.
Your motivation to complete this project?
After joining industrial talk 3 which discussed cloud computing, it has opened my eyes about the increasing use of cloud computing around the world. In that talk, I found out about the advantages of using cloud computing that benefit all parties so I became excited to learn about cloud computing through a course provided by AWS. The help from Dr Azurah also helped me be more motivated to complete this project as she always assisted in keeping my progress on schedule.
Your opinion on whether getting the badge is easy or difficult? Which modul is the easiest/most difficult
For me, getting the badge for AWS cloud computing is not really difficult for me because just by completing 10 modules, we can receive the badges. AWS is easily compared to Google Certification because in Google you need to sit for a test before you get your badge and certifications. Besides that, you can complete all the 10 modules at my own pace. I can complete each module according to the day and time I set without rushing to complete it. So this helped me to be more focused and understand the content on each module. In my opinion, the simplest module is module 1 to module 3 as it is just an introduction to cloud computing and does not involve any labs meanwhile module 7 and module 8 because i am not familiar with storage and database since before this I didn't know about what's component in technology.
What’s a badge worth?
As a student, this badge is very worthwhile for a student because it can help me to improve my potential in industry. Since cloud computing has been used worldwide, this badge can help me to convince my future employer that I have skills in cloud computing, especially AWS cloud computing if their company uses AWS as their cloud computing. From this it can help me to get higher chances to get employed compared to those who doest have badge in AWS cloud computing.
Feedback whether getting the badge improve your knowledge and skills on Cloud Computing
Honestly getting this badge really helps me to improve my knowledge and skills on cloud computing. Through this badges help me to enhance my knowledge on the application of cloud-computing and as we know in this AWS cloud computing module provide lab for each module and this help me to enhance my new skills
Your opinion on whether every company should shift to Cloud Computing?
I think it is good if every company shifts to cloud computing because it is very convenient and cost effective. For example, from the infrastructure aspect if the company uses a traditional computing model, the infrastructure is treated as hardware and it requires the company to provision capacity by guessing theoretical maximum peaks, meanwhile if the company uses cloud computing the company can stop guessing the capacity and they can pay only for the amount that they consume. Overall I suggest for every company to shift to cloud computing because there are a lot of advantages using this cloud computing.
Your opinion on whether every computer science/UTM student should learn Cloud Computing (get the AWS badge?)
It is good for every computer science or UTM student to learn cloud computing and get the AWS badge because these are at the top list of the most demanding skills for employers nowadays and with this badge can help the student to improve their potential in the industry.
Any advice to your friends who have not got the AWS badge yet?
I highly recommend you to get the AWS badge because it is a very interesting thing to learn and it is a great way to boost your skills. Don't worry if you are busy with your studies because you can allocate and arrange your time to finish all the modules.
What is your direction after completing the badge?
I would like to continue to explore more about AWS-related technology because I found out that it was interesting for me to self-learn about AWS. Besides that I want to learn more about cloud computing through other than AWS such as Google Cloud Platform.
Your opinion about getting the AWS badge that is included in SECP1513 subject
I’m grateful that the AWS badge is included in the SECO1513 subject. It's very helpful for me and the other students to add our new skills that will benefit us to improve our potential in the industry. Since I’m not given exposure to cloud computing and AWS, I think this a big opportunity for me to learn this new knowledge. Once I was given exposure by the university, my curiosity became higher to learn about cloud computing in more depth and explore more about AWS. I think the university can support students to get official badges and certifications because most of all official certifications need to pay the fee and aren't free. Therefore, I’m very glad that the AWS badge is curated as part of the SECP1513 subjectand given the opportunity to learn about it.
