Self Reflection :

• From the program, I have learn a lot about the job scope as a bioinformatician and it was very inspiring because I don't know anything about this profession. After the explaination from the speaker, I know that a bioinformatician is responsible to conducting the gene sequence analysis and generating the report once the sequencing process was done in the lab. The jobscope of a bioinformatician includes gene and protein expression, variant expression, biomarker discovery, metabollic and signaling pathway, viral abundance and profiling as well as microbial abundance and profiling. I also realized that a bioinformatician will use several tools to analyse the gene sequence by utilizing the programming languages, literature reviews, bioinformatics databases and bioinformatics softwares. As a bioinformatics student, this program had previewed me some information about the courses I should learn throughout the 8 semester and set my mindset to be hardworking so that I could prepared myself for my future career.
