Graduate Attributes

In this activity, I did learn many graduate attributes that I did feel comfortable with and I will talk about each one in the following part.

1. Communication Skills:

I did communicate with many students in this activity about database technologies, storing data and how they will be secured to avoid manipulation. The communication skills in this activity can be summed by saying that I did get benefited by a great deal by communicating with many people with various backgrounds.

2. Thinking Skills:

Brainstorming for future ideas took a part in the event. Speaker and moderator used to ask participants many questions to expand the main idea from the event.

3. Scholarship:

Yes, this event did provide some information about the real-life impact of this event on our society, especially in the work and social life.

4. Leadership and Teamworking Skills:

For me, I do know that I have good leadership skills, and that came from my experience in academic life. But it is clear that I did learn a lot about teamwork skills while I was in this event even as a normal participant and I did really enjoy that they asked us to discuss about given exercises.

5. Adaptability:

When it comes to adaptability I need to give a short definition about it first, it does mean your capability to learn any new skills whatever the circumstances you face. Clearly, this event shows that easily by the ability to conduct this whole event virtually during the Covid19 period.

6. Global Citizen:

I did feel that the most since I am mainly from Egypt and I do live in Saudi Arabia right now. So with that in mind, you can see that I felt that I need to participate as a global citizen during this event with other local and international participants.

7. Enterprising Skills:

When it comes to enterprising skills, clearly I can say that I did see how the participants are passionate about the idea and do give it their time and energy. So it is about passion and energy.

Position / Role in the Activities

In this event, my role was as a participant only.

Mini Report

The speakers of SQL injection were Abdullah AlSoliman and Anas Roubi they was the president and vice president of Cyber X club at the School of Computing, UTM. It starts with a practical demonstrative workshop by our vice president, Anas Roubi, about SQL Injection attacks, and how hackers can make use of database vulnerabilities to extract data from websites and databases. The demo involved explanations of SQLi mechanisms as well as interactive CTF demos. Abdullah AlSoliman went through SQL command and its relation with database management systems and conducted an interactive quiz for our members to test their understanding and create a sense of interactive atmosphere.

Reflection

In this part, I will talk about my experience during this event. The activity was very helpful to someone who specialized in computer science because as a software engineer I need to have the ability to program a secured database system. I took a look at new technologies and areas in database management systems before attending the event to understand the new information. New inventions were an amazing part of the event because it shows how the world is moving forward. SQL is a structured query language one of two types that database systems used to write on so it needs to be secured. The event was impressive and helpful for UTM students and attendees. In the end, I want to thank the speakers and the Cyber X club for their good job.
